what build do i need to use if i want the evil stormy start mod?

and how do i activate it?

and a friend of mine said that there is a jack sparrow main quest on the way, is this true?

The Evil Stormy Start is in Build 14 Alpha 6 Update 2 (it might also be in Build 13 Final, but I'm not sure about that).

-If you're looking for a mainly stable game (which may not have the Stormy Start), go with Build 13 Final
-If you want more features (such as the DirectSail mod), and don't mind dealing with some bugs, go with Build 14 Alpha 6 Update 2
-Build 14 Alpha 7 is best avoided
-Build 14 Alpha 8 should only be used if you're interested in hunting down and reporting bugs

When you meet Malcolm in your cabin at the start of the game, you can just choose to set sail because a French squadron has been sighted. This should result in the Evil Stormy Start.

Apparently, there's also a more difficult version of the Evil Stormy Start. This can be activated by going into the BuildSettings.h file in the main game directory, and under the heading "STARTING OPTIONS FOR A NEW GAME", changing the 0 on the first line to a 1 in this section of the code:

As for the Jack Sparrow main quest: Yes. I know that selectable main quests are in the works, and include quest lines for Jack Sparrow, Horatio Hornblower, and Blaze Devlin, along with the original game storyline.

If i have the Build 13 Final installed and already played it and all. I want to install the Build 14 Alpha 6 now, do i have to uninstall the Build 13 Final and install it again along with the stock game?

I think the boarding bug is gone - at least, I haven't run into it since I switched to Build 14 Alpha 6 Update 2.

Yes, the smileys on here are quite good - I've never seen so many pirate-themed ones in one place <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> . If you happen to run across some smileys on the net that you think will look good on the forum, post them in the Burning Brig. If a Moderator likes them, they'll be added to the forum collection. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
The boarding bug is gone... in some game versions. Though in others we got it back or we got a new version. I lost track of it all, but it keeps popping up every now and then in some game versions. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

There's the regular Stormy Start and the Evil Stormy Start. Both are started by talking with Malcolm, but for the evil one you must enable it in BuildSettings.h. The main difference is that it's harder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
