favorite blade?

Been playing 13mod/update3 for a while...LOVE IT!! slowly building up skills and abilities. but have been slow to increase basic defense, etc. being addressed next go. i have the poisoned sword. but what is the most leathal, best defense sword out there? i want to hack through the enemy and block their attacks!
sailing around now with 2 war galleons and trying to beat up on pirates. trying to do trade missions but some storeowners tell me my ships aren't big enough......

Blockrates are not that important!
Buying or finding a guardvest and enough lotions
should see you thru. Keep an Eye on the red bar while fighting,
when it goes down hit the C key. As you gain expirience, you don't
even have to do that any more! I hardly ever use the block key.

the solingen rapier has a max of 98% block. the cardinal's guard is the counterpart of the solingen rapier, and the attwood F100 is a blance between the two. the main advantage of the attwood F100 is it's attack rate and good damage. but bosun's choice is by far the most damaging. i once managed to do 300 damage with it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> (critical hit, professional fencer, level 10 melee, excellent quality)
