Hey I was just wondering your favourite pirate game around ?

Mine would be POTC:build mod. You cant live without this mod but its great so everyone tell me what you think! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Vanilla SeaDogs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> altho Hosehead's mod pack adds alot of gameplay too.

old Pirates - first pirate game I ever played, but also Sea Dogs - great game which I played once whole week with max 6 hours of sleeping per day... aaah good old days

After 4 years I'm still playing POTC+Build every days.

I try SM Pirates and AOP, but after finished two or three time Pirates I leave the game. Same thing for AOP.

POTC+Build is just the better game I even play.

POTC+Build = 10/10
SEADOGS = 7
POTC = 7
SM Pirates = 6
AOP+SuperMod = 6
AOP = 5

The first game that I remember that really got me into pirate games was the first Pirates! for Nintendo. That just blew me away at the time. Later I went back and played it and couldn't believe how prehistoric it was, but back in the early years of gaming that was awesome. Then there was Uncharted Waters on SNES that was a step up and was a very good game though unfortunately it was easy to master quickly.
My favorite pirate game of all though, probably Sea Dogs, although I've never played the modded version. I believe we discussed this in another thread, Meigger, it would be great if they came out with a second version of Tropico 2 - Pirates Cove.

it turns out that there are a huge load of patches for tropico 2. don't know everything that they change, but i do know that the amounts of captives are increased and that you can capture important people, like a prince, and ransom them back to europe.

i think that the best games ever will be the ones that kicks off standards in game playing, like in my case mentioned above...

unfortunately i couldn`t get my copy of POTC on time and now is difficult to find

Thanks for the info Morgan, I'll have to check that out. The prince ransom angle sounds interesting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

shokre, I sent you an IM about some info regarding a POTC game that's available. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

my friend captured the prince of sweden once. 20.000.000 gold coins! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> it's a chance of about 0.01%, but it's sure worth it.

Thanks Old Salt <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

My favourites are Star Wars Galaxies, Rome: Total War and Medieval II: Total War - sometimes I just start Medieval to play a battle on the highest difficulty..

the total war series sure is nice. but i like rome: total war the best for some reason.

ahoy mates! long time no see

ive played only shogun-total war, i think first or second from the series of total war games

Me too, although the game is broken on my computer at the moment - so I usually fire up Medieval II for a quick battle or siege on Very Hard every few days... Unfortunately, replayability of the Grand Campaign of M2 is very poor in my opinion...

Unfortunately I was introduced to the TW series only after Rome, so I haven't played Shogun and Medieval.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

one mad occurance i've seen with RTW is when 1300 rebel infantry almost instantly fled for 450 archers and a general! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> i couldn't believe my eyes when that happened!

ever seen a flock of peasants? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
