What do you think about the possibility to sail only via 3rd person mode ??? Take the sailing via small map out of the game.. ?? So when you sail in 3rd person mode you also encounters other ships and the day-time is also changing. Otherwise you also have to speed up the time of sailing(because traveling will last to long...)

Will it be possible?
 
It's possible that is for sure the possibilities are already in the game it would just mean re-coding a lot of things, but interesting idea and definatly worth taking a look at.

Hey - you could use the map to chart your course by taking bearings and stuff!!!!(I know nothing about sailing...)

I suppose that you should keep an option to sail on the map - some people would probably get pretty upset if you take away their ability to speed up the game. I think it's awesome though - I try spending a lot of my time in either 3rd or 1st person.
 
can someone of the Mod-team tell, how is the progress of this feature?? Is it possible to do - or not?

the best would be, to take the small seamap complete out of the game! Because it is not realistic in sailing! ...and the investigation of encounters is much more interesting(to watch through scop)

Actually, that would be the best for <i>some</i>, not for all. Sailing in 3rd-person is unrealistic as well. I enjoy sailing 1st-person, but only when I have the time or inclination. Removing the map option altogether without giving us the choice is unreasonable.
 
If i make it i will make it a choice where u can choose how u like to sail, the map will stay in there. Im also redoing the waves to make them more realistic.
