Few bugs

Hi, i played the game for a few weeks and found some bugs I'd like to report ^^

sorry if they were already reported or if this is not the right place to post it, but I'm runnig low on time while posting at work...

When u get the promotion from the governor, becoming Lieutnant or something, there are some chat lines that u say: "Hello, my name is Lieutenant" instead of telling your name... eventualy everyone will be calling you for the tittle instead of your name.

When you sail on the map mode, and encounter a battle, pressing the space and choosing "engage" will take you to sail mode with no options bar, no radar, no other ships and no way to get out for sea mode again, just infinit "going nowhere" sail mode, until you reload or exit game. Only start happening after winning the game, and choosing to keep playing.

in any map u can walk with your char (including ships, during boardings), if you prass "d" or "a" button on keyboard, it will move the char to the left or right side, if you keep doing this towards a rock, house, or anything you should not be able to cross, you will get "inside" it, or maybe over or under it, anyway, you'll get to a "safe place" in with enemies cannot hit you, but you can still hit then if you get to the right spot. If If you use this with immortal Danniele, any dungeon gets really easy. o_O

After finishing the game (I only realized it was happening after finishing the game, dunno if can be done before), during the smuggling time, choosing to kill the smugglers to keep the money and the goods do not trigger the combate mode for the smugglers. You can use that line and go away without loosing reputation and without having to fight.

Same thing happens sometimes with the "red robbed" enemies during the quest. somethimes they just appeared but did not start fighting me. I could just go away or kill then easily.

there are some bugs on the ships but I already saw then reported anywhere on these foruns, so ill not give much details... sometimes, after boarding a ship, during the transfer time, u see some of your officers with a sloop ship namer Error on the options...
once i could not repair a ship of mine, cuz everytime i repaired it, it just desappeared. i had to sell it and buy a new one to fix the bug.

this is not a bug but, lol anyway... when u finish the game, if u manage to get the Black Pearl, its sails will become just like the others ships sails. to have it on its "original" sail you'l have to put all your ships with that sail.

ok, i know there were more, but crazy as i am, ill remember then only at the worst times... if i manage to remember while im near a pc ill post then ^^

ty, and a nice day to everyone... ^^

Ok then; ill admit a few of them dont sound too common as far as bugs go but can I suggest you post it in one of the bug threads as you probably wont get much attention in here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

The rank problem is indeed known.
Some fixing has been done on that, but I don't remember if it was ever finished.

The infinite "going nowhere" mode sounds very strange.
I'm pretty sure that shouldn't happen.
Have you tried pressing F3?
That should bring you back to the worldmap in normal circumstances.

The sidestep-through-walls issue is also known.
We have tried to fix it, but it's either that or no sidestep at all.
It is up to the player to make proper use of it or to use it to cheat. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Indeed it seems to be impossible to have torn sails on just one ship in your fleet.
It's either all or none. Perhaps we will manage to change this in a future update.
But don't count on that any time soon.

Just for clarity's sake, which modpack version are you using?
In any case, thanks very much for your report!

I'm using Build 13 Final. Of the bugs reported above:

Rank instead of name - yes, I see this one.

Getting stuck after switching to Sail mode - no, this does not happen to me.

Sidestep through walls - this is a known bug and listed in the readme file. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Smugglers - being a law-abiding pirate, I haven't bothered smuggling (I had one of my officers get "Trustworthy Lad" as soon as possible so selling captured contraband isn't a problem). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> So I don't know about this one.

Red-robed monks - I haven't seen them anywhere they weren't supposed to be. On the other hand, at least once when I was playing the unmodded game, I remember getting a message from "Mystery Man" just before I was about to save Danielle from muggers on Isla Muelle in the main quest, so there may be some red-robed silliness built into the game anyway.

Black Pearl's sails - I disagree with Pieter, it <i>is</i> possible to have torn sails on just the Black Pearl. If it is impossible in Build 14, it means something has been broken during that build. I'd like to know how to fix the sails after capture while still leaving them torn when you meet the Pearl during the main quest.

Additional bugs:

Escaping from Oxbay with Tobias and the defector - the wind seems to be rigged so that it's always blowing back to shore, making escape impossible. The only way I can get past this is to walk to Greenford, go to the shipyard and have my ships teleported there.

Fists - it seems that fists do more damage than any sword you care to name. An enemy who has lost his sword is more dangerous than one with a sword, while I can often knock an enemy out with a few swipes. The only problem is that this may cause trouble when you win. I'd just attacked Greenford as part of the main quest, I'd knocked out the soldiers who come at you from the town gate, my officers had finished them off, then I went to the town gate and it wouldn't let me in. I reloaded the game, tried again but this time used a sword to kill the soldiers properly, and the gate let me in.

That is possible, because for all ships you use standard sails. The standard sails for the Black Pearl are the torn ones, so that is why it is possible. Try changing the sails to something els, en then look at the result.

I play the 13 final and windows vista. i'll try to frapps the engage battle bug for u guys.

done, i frapped and as you'll be able to see, once i get to the direct sail mode, theres no options nowhere on the screen. no icons. and pressing f3 des nothing. f1 do work, to get the main screen. and f2 works too. but the only way to get outta that mode is reloading or exiting game.

^ Listen to Thomas. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

As for your fists, their strength is linked to your character level.
The higher your level, the more damage and the greater the chance of knocking our enemies.
Perhaps the effect is a bit overdone though.
It can be toned down quite easily. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
