Few questions about the build

ToMeR

Landlubber
I have few questions about the build. I read the FAQ but didn't find an answer.
1. If i marry to someone, what happens?
2. What are those Acres in the character page?
3. What the difference between personal money and crew money?
4. What is the highest Rank with the Nations (Right now i'm knight of England) and what does it help me?
5. What is the highest fame rank (Right now i'm promising pirate) and what does it help me?
6. Why when i go to shipyard and try to repair my ship the game freezes to few seconds and then come back?

Thanks.

1. You can receive reputation bonuses and information from your wife (though mine's been broken, so I can't say that from experience. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> )

2. It's land that you receive from governors for performing in their service (ie. sinking ships with a Letter of Marque). It generates personal wealth, that's about all.

3. Personal wealth is a measure of fame, so to speak, while crew money is the money you use to buy ships, food/rum, equipment, etc.

4. The highest English rank is Marquess, followed by Earl, Viscount, Baron, Knight, Admiral, `Vice-Admiral`, Commodore, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant, down to the lowly Midshipman.

5. The highest fame you can achieve is "Scourge of the Seven Seas." The highest I've ever achieved was "Scourge of the Caribbean," which is the next one down.

6. That's a product of the various calculations and such that the game performs whenever you go into the shipyard interface. It's the same thing that happens when you go to sell a lot of goods at the store, only it has to calculate everything <i>immediately</i> to give you an accurate price on the worth of your ship (including its cargo).

OK. Thanks.
i Heard that if you capture fort you can steal money from the citizens. Is that true?
Again Thanks.

Watch, <b>ToMeR, </b>when you talk to people around the town. If you have a seemingly harmless conversation with someone and they offer you advice and you take it, sometimes it will enlighten you (good) and sometimes it will <b>lighten</b> you. If it lightens you, you should accost them for your money back because your pocket has been picked! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
