So yeah, we may actually be able to use this.
And I'll see what I can do about toggles, with every little tiny bit of speed no longer an issue, that shouldn't be so bad.
I'm still trying to figure a way to get something to display, and also may we should go back to bigger boxes (or change the paradigm for near fleets)...
 
i tried installing the newest pre13 fleet build. by some reason i cant access anything in the charector menu (F2)
anyone else experienced this??
 
I had that once, when I hit F2 when Malcolm was about to talk to me. But other than that, no.
When did it happen to you?
Can you turn on error logging, repeat it, and post the logs?
 
Hi,

I guess you have all played at least once to SM Pirates!
There is one thing I like in this game, and that's how the fleets
are handled. Many different types (merchants, army to take over a city,
silver train, governors, raiders, ...) and they look like they are
acting with some kind of logic.

I think you might get some good ideas by studying them a bit (from an in game point of view I mean, as there is no access to osurce code in SMP!).

Off topic, but, one funny thing happened to me this week end in SMP!:
I took over a spanish city and changed it's governor to french, then I sailed away and found a spanish ship carrying a new governor to that very same city. Of course, I sunk it, but later the french blamed me for having killed their new governor... Looks like the game messed up a bit.

i would like to know if this mod is compatible with the post build material? because when i installed this mod, the new interface and stuff from that mod pack vanishged,,,as if the bemuda triangle swallowed it,,,any tips?
 
It certainly isn't compatible. It used to be, until the mod was temporarily put on hold because it didn't yet work quite perfectly yet. If you want to use this mod, I suppose you should install it on plain Build 12? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

What up with this mod? It looked promising. Is it gonna be a part of a future version of the build mod?
 
I suppose once it works good, it will be implemented. Personally I didn't really like it because although the fleets would actually do smart things (like sailing from port to port) instead of silly things (like just randomly sailing around), you wouldn't see the ships on the map anymore so you don't see that they're doing smart things... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
As someone said in this topic also in Pirates! you couldn't see other ships while sailing. neither in seadogs were they visible. I'm sure if they are inside visiblity range (we see the pendants on the horizont) the player will be told about it. The current sail-ho window works nicely for that thing. So you see that they are there (if we engage them and the sailing course is appropriate we even know where are they headed, and what they gonna do there, warships will likle be fighting, merchants will be trading). And we can finally forget those stupid toy ships, that i never liked. I'm waiting for this mod very much! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />
 
yo this loooks like a nice mod. Anyody know where i can get i cant get into the ftp files in pirates ahoy so could you like email at baddazz_99@hotmail.com or something?

Yeah I like the sound of this one, too, but I'm not sure what became of it. It's not on the FTP anyway.

If you want to get into the FTP go to <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?showtopic=978" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?showtopic=978</a> and use the link in the fourth post on this topic (by sampow). It's the only way I've ever been able to get into the FTP.

This mod was never really finished and isn't in the works anymore either. Some parts of this mod got added into the Post Build 12 mods, but the unfinished parts not. It was a nice idea to have ships doing something that makes sense, like sail from port to port, but unfortunately, you didn't actually see the ships sailing anymore, so that was a drawback. Please see my posts above this one in this thread.
