Fort capture

I knew that it could be done, but yesterday I tried it and.... nothing, I reduced the garrison to only 10 people, but never got an option to assault it and capture it, I've readed the instructions, and only say that you can capture the forts and that there are the one of most exciting battles, so... it can be done, but how?? I have build 12.

As I said, I fired, and fired, and approached a lot, but no option on the commands to assault, any ideas??

Sometimes if you are too far away from the shore you won't get the "fort's on fire" icon...

It also helps if you have a second ship that you can send ashore with the "landing party" ability... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

The fort was Dowesen, and.... near the shore..., I was near the cliff of the fort, so near that I was crashing with it, and no icon, I'll try now that I have two Manowars and that I have the landing party option, I'll tell you what happens.

You haven´t shot it up enough probably. What was the damage to the fort? The "crew number" is always 10, what´s important is the damage. After a while of shooting, you´ll get a report that a cannon exploded. Do that some times over again, and when the damage is about 50%, you should be able to storm.
