Forum and Site Issues

Was it related to the PA! site though? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
 
Yes, it definitely was PA related, it popped up when I tried to load the PA main page. For some reason, it must have interpreted something in the code as form that required me to fill out information. No luck tracking down anything just what caused it yet, I'll keep looking.
 
Some people say the E in IE is for Exploder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Been using Firefox for several years, rarely encounter problems.

Firefox is actually the most popular browser for PA!, by a fair amount also.
 
Firefox is simply the best browser, period! It's not bloated, it doesn't try to be something that it's not, you can customize it to do whatever you need a browser to do, and best of all it isn't written by Micro$oft!! ...but I may be a bit biased! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I did some digging, but without knowing exactly what Joomla addons and modules your using on the main page Keith, the best I can come up with is it is probably and issue between IE and one of the Java scripts running on the main page. Ever since Micro$ofts little falling out with Sun a few years ago, Java just doesn't function properly with anything written by Micro$oft. I have ran into Java issues before with other pages and IE, and numerous issues with Windows and Java. From what I have been able to track down, I think it has something to do with the menu. Hope that helps mate.

All I need my browser to do is to load web pages and download files. That's it. But no.... all browser have to add so much craziness! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
I prefer Internet Explorer simply because I don't want to install two browsers because I only need one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />
 
I understand what ya mean Pieter, you really do only need one. To bad Micro$soft decided to integrate IE so much into Windows that it's almost impossible to uninstall it. At one point, it was their goal to make Windows it's self an internet browser. Even just a default install of Firefox is so much better and much more secure than IE. If you prefer the look of IE's interface, there is a Firefox theme that makes it look just like IE. You really should at least give it a try mate.
 
Funny, when I tried my version of IE it works (IE6, no need to update it as I never use it)

Now, apart from all of that, could I get you to try again now we have shifted server.

Internet Explorer is a no no in this house! It's either Firefox or Opera!! And so does the forum. Though I got an error message when trying to visit www.piratesahoy.net/forum, which I used to use for the forum.
Oh well; just need to update my bookmarks to forum.piratsahoy.net. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Yeah you will now, the forum is really it's own sub domain now before it was some weird hybrid folder/subdomain

Deep, you posted a news story about the patch for Age of Booty? I never did see one. Did you enter it using the main editor? Or the popup HTML editor? Did you remember to set the "Visable on Main page" option? Also you need to give it a publish END date as well. The default start date is always the date you create the story and the End publishing date is as well, you have to either change that one manually, or just delete everything in the End publishing box and it will never expire.
 
Deep, yeah it was rather funny when I did the DNS change my main computer was redirected immediately.

Then I wanted to test it with ie7 so I used my laptop (which is on the same network) but it was still on the old server.

Never had that happen before and I don't know why it did not take at the same time but the issue seems to be fixed now

By the way Keith that thing about the mainsite being with wrong theme.. that was the second time it happend, the first time it happened in this month that mainsite had somekind of green theme to it, forgot the name that thing had. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
