obwohl mich hier sicher niemand versteht wollte ich mal fragen ob mir jemand bei pirates helfen kann da ich 5fragen habe <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

1.) Kann man eigtnlich ne eigene flagge ins spiel einbauen oder muss man wirklich die nehmen die schon dabei sind <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

2.) was bringt es eigentlich eine gouvernörs tochter zu heiraten ?

3.) gibt es noch ne bessere rüstung als die aus metal ?

4.) was muss ich tuhn um eine stadt angreifen zu können ? ich kappere alle schiffe der engländer aber kann ihr dumme stadt nicht atackieren <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

5.) im status steht ja wieviel piraten man schon besiegt hatt usw aber was soll ich unter bestfrafte schurken verstehen?

(For those who don't understand German: he's asking a few questions about the game here because he hasn't found a german speaking Pirates! forum yet. A quick google search I did didn't yield such a forum indeed, so I'm gonna answer his questions...)

1. Nein, du kannst auch eigene einbauen. Dazu brauchst du ein Grafikprogramm, dass `DXT-MipMaps` verarbeiten kann (für Photoshop gibt's da z.B. ein Plugin bei nvidia). Damit einfach mal die Dateien im "custom" Ordner des `Pirates-Verzeichnisses` anschauen, bei Bedarf ändern und wieder neu speichern (mit Alphakanal und Mipmaps).

Oder von anderen Spielern erstellte Flaggen runterladen und ins `custom-Verzeichnis` kopieren. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

4. Wenn's nur eine Siedlung ist: gar nicht. Echte Städte kannst du attackieren, indem du sie erst mal ein wenig von See her bombardierst (Space) oder indem du daneben irgendwo an Land gehst und zu Fuß zur Stadt läufst.

5. Keine Ahnung, ich spiel die englische Version...

Für die Flaggen folge mal <a href="http://www.addictedtopirates.com/downloads/getfile.php?id=5" target="_blank">diesem Link</a> oder <a href="http://pirates.piratesahoy.net/fab_flagpack.zip" target="_blank">diesen hier</a>. Ob die auch mit der deutschen/ europäischen Version gehen weiß ich nun nicht. Mit meiner `US-Importversion` funzen die einwandfrei. Entpacken musste das Ganze in <b>My DocumentsMy GamesSid Meier's Pirates!Custom</b>. Dann sollte es gehen.

naja man muss ihn 4x besiegen für jeweils 2 punkte und dabei bekommt man kartenteile wo sein stützpunkt ist, wenn man den erobert hat fechtet man nochmal und dafür gibts wieder 2 punkte und eine belohnung in form von 100000 goldstücken. Du siehst: es lohnt sich!

You know, we have a section of the regular forum taverns that is called the Screaming Squid that is for folks who do not speak English and wish to find help from those who do speak their language - I will see about getting a section set up in the SMP section for that!

außerdem muss man ja auch 9 piraten besiegen!

But give us the freedom to talk German catalina! Some people dont talk English and even those who do would have problems finding the right vocabulary. Pirating isnt taught at school. At least not here.

Well, why start separeting each other? If theres one forum for questions/comments why not allow everyone to post? Isnt the internet a great place to come togehter? So why seperate each other after comming togehter here? There might be a language barriere, but I dont think another (special) german threat or forum is necessarry.
 
Some people, get annoyed when alot of unknown language is posted. Also, why should non english speakers have to wade through 20 posts just to find one that has German in it, same for me, why should I have to scroll past 20 posts of German to get to what I can read?

With a seperate non English thread we can choose to wade through that or not. Everyone is happy and it will be easier for people to find the info they are asking for.

My take on it. Seems like win win to me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

P.S. Better yet, Firaxis supplies the stuff you need to build a fan website, I am sure with all the sales in Germany you could find enough people to help you start a German Fan site. It does seem odd there are none listed. I find it hard to believe there is not a single one in the whole country. Ich denke nicht, daß eine weitere (besondere) deutsche Bedrohung oder Forum nöt<b>t</b>ig ist.

This is what you have written in translation, Kurtz. Perhaps you should refine your English <b>before</b> posting in an English forum. Being a German myself, I know how annyoing it is reading messages that resort to a Babel Fish level of translation.

I always mix up thread with threat. It happens all the time.

Yeah maybe we need a german fanpage. Or a german forum or whatever. But I already spent too much time on the net to start my own Pirates page!

Theres a german translation for the game, the original had none, at least not on my C64, so I see at least a little progress.

But I dont understand why english speaking people get so mad seeing an `non-english` message. (Seen the same on other boards before), the other way round no one complains about e.g. an american not speaking german.
