Game Score: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN (Chip Ellinghaus & Grant Slawson, 2003) - Personal Upload

While "Sea Dogs", "Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales" and even "Fort Ross" got an official soundtrack release,
to be best of my knowledge, Corsairs 2 (better known to us as "Pirates of the Caribbean" or Sea Dogs II) never did.

There is even a link to be found with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Both games were released through UbiSoft, for example.
But it goes further as the music for AC was written by Brian Tyler,
who wrote some fun piratey stuff for LEGO Universe a few years earlier:

And Olivier Derivière, who first wrote "Destination: Treasure Island", later went on to write music for this downloadable content:
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag (Freedom Cry) [Original Game Soundtrack]

No fair!
While the music may be a bit less classical than those others mentioned, it is still a good listen.
And some tracks, especially tavern and battle ones, are pretty darn great if you ask me!

So I took it onto myself to cobble together a soundtrack presentation from the game files.
If I remember correctly, I used all files available; even those unused in the European release of the game.
Then I ordered them in such a way that combined with my invented track names they kind-of follow the game's main storyline.

You may notice some shameless plugs in the focus on DUTCH and NEW HORIZONS elements.
Of course Barbados was "Oxbay" in the original game. Same with Bonaire, which used to be "Douwesen".
They weren't renamed until @konradk, @Maximus, @Screwface and myself got our hands on it... :cheeky

However, to honour the original game developers, the starting date is still '1690' like it used to be.
Even though this got changed to 1750 for the "Tales of a Sea Hawk" Main Story Quest in New Horizons.

Which begs the question... who composed what?

Even though I've been around here for 15+ years, the entire behind-the-scenes business of this game STILL confuses me!
Probably it confuses basically everyone else too.
And this is likely the reason that this is the ONLY game in the series NOT currently available on either Steam or Good Old Game (GOG).

Anyone care to investigate this mystery...?
@Cerez? @The Nameless Pirate?

And @Vosk, any chance you could redo this edit based on the original source files?
I downgraded the quality to 128 KB/s MP3 back in the early days.
And when I re-listened yesterday, I noticed clicks at the start and end of many files and clipping throughout.
Not so awesome then... :rumgone

I uploaded the music files used in the mod, along with the stock game tracks in unedited form in Google Drive.

In fact, I have zipped the whole of the Sea Dogs Soundtrack; except Caribbean Tales and the original Sea Dogs.

I will make a new thread about my Game soundtracks folder, which contains files from various games.

I'll be looking forward to it, @The Nameless Pirate!

Especially I'll be curious to find out what music IS in the game that is NOT on the hardcopy soundtrack CDs that I've got.

Perhaps we can create some extended album presentations ourselves, eh? :woot

WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?
I didn't even remember it being there at all!
But according to PROGRAM\sound\ALIAS\music_standard.c:

But I don't really know.
Credit in "music_standard" says @zorglub (formerly known as "a simple virtual sailor" or ASVS for short) added it and it was indeed from Sea Dogs.

Nice to know I was searching for it on YouTube, even gameplay would help but I didn't find it.

Looks like I am finding stuff today:

I wonder how long it'll take for me to find his entire discography in full...

(With thanks to SoulseekQt)

Or... more clearly:

Possible source of the PotC tavern soundtrack, or at least it's rendition.
It's the Bayside Waltz track.
AMG Complete Celt

I found out of this library from this video that also features PotC.

Original Music
Chip Ellinghaus
Grant Slawson
So turns out the only music by Yuri Poteyenko actually in the game was music from the first Sea Dogs used in the few cutscenes.
The rest of the game is all original music recorded in the USA and had nothing to do with Akella at all.
Thread title updated to correctly indicate this.

Stranger still, it now appears that the soundtrack to "Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales" was actually written for Sea Dogs 2 (aka. "Pirates of the Caribbean")!
And the Russian release of the game therefore was shipped with completely different music! :shock
