Getting awarded land as a privateer.

    For some reason I get awarded acres of land right away as a privateer (from the first rank on). Wasn't that supposed to be delayed until the upper ranks? At least as far as privateers are concerned.

    Privateers get it from the start.
    Navy officers have a delay until they reach knighthood.

    Alright, I memorized it the other way apparantly. BTW, is there a way to join the military in-game, should one fancy a naval career mid-game?

    You can do it through console using JoinNavy(NATION); .
    I think that should take care of everything.
