GRRR! the boarding bug is back :(

Hi, I have done a full uninstall and manual remove-all of POTC + MOD, rebooted computer, did the install of game then rebooted.

This is exactly how I installed the mod :-
Build12_full, unzipped and executed the EXE followed all instructions.
Pre b13_base, unzipped in potc folder ran the English EXE.
pre_b13_upd_8-7-06_small, unzipped in POTC folder.
pre_b13_upd_11-7-06, unzipped in POTC folder.
pre_b13_upd_19-7-06, unzipped in POTC folder, ran the English EXE.
pre_b13_upd_3-8-06, unzipped in POTC folder, ran the English EXE.
pre_b13_upd_5-8-06, unzipped in POTC folder, ran the English EXE.( I thnik this is the update that fixed the boarding bug).
pre_b13_upd_16-8-06unzipped in POTC folder, ran the English EXE.

Ran the game started a new game, then when the time came to board an enemy ship I killed all on the top deck got to the lower decks killed all enemy there and nothing couldnt continue I am locked in unable to continue.

Have I installed it corectly?

Ahoy thar colmaniac: yew'm seem tew be washed ashore, an grounded real good thar!

Not sayin fer sure, but have yew tried this yet ? after an Install run or execute the "RunMe.bat" and after that the "English.bat." Might be worth yer efforts thar!

Also Pieter, whom has left these waters fer a short spell ah plunderin, posted this lil ere fix today in this ere thread below, it may indeed help yew'm a long a wee bit:

Well, I've been doing boardings with the new update and my code and haven't run across problems yet. I may release this puppy without it being in a state that I'd consider finished, but at least people could play with it and see if it helps a few problems. Just let me make sure it doesn't blow up in a Big Firey Ball Visible From Space. (BFBVFS, copyright J.M.Pescado)

Hi, after messing around with the instaling I found a couple of posts about installing the mods.
So far I have installed the build 12, post 13 and I left out all the up dates, but just installed the latest one (16-8-6). So far I can board ships and capture them, successfull captures so far is 4 <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. Hopefully when I get to the next bug I found which is impossible to get past (capture Idol in Greenford) I shouldnt have any problems, I shall see <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />.

I too have that damn problem with boarding. no "enter cabin" icon appears...
I've tried all the buttons but alas, it was to no avail...
I am running the 16-8 update... does anyone have a solution for this problem????
because i am getting really annoyed with having to load all the time...
When i hunt pirates for the govenors and they strike their colors i can't get my money
because I can't shoot at them and can't board them...
please someone.

Btw it solved the boarding bug.

I now can board any ship and capture it. Got me a a nice Manowar and a light manowar <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />. Also the major storyline bug I had trying to captur the idol from Greenford, I got passed it and managed to get and land on the light house <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />.

Follow these steps :-

Fully uninstall POTC and MODS then reboot.
Install POTC then reboot.
Install the build 12_full, (Follow any install instructions posted).
unzip pre_b13_upd_16-8-06 into POTC folder, then run English.exe.
Run the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />.
Dont bother with the brev updates.
It is brobably best to start a new game, or I u like try your save game, I never bothered just started a new game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />.

ATM, I have a few bugs which were on frev updates. 1 minor bug I have is when in on world map and I want to enter a battle with a pirate ship/ship`s, entering battle there is no pirate icon in the go to menu and in the top left the world map icon is up. Although the enemy ship is there I cant board it.
 
To install the modpack properly:
1) Install the unmodded game from the CDs
2) Install Build 12
3) Install Pre Build 13 Base
4) Install the 16 August update

There is no need to install any other updates. If you encounter the boarding bug again, install the small bugfix from my site.

That is a bug known as the <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8011" target="_blank">Ghost Ships</a> bug. It's a really annoying one that we're still trying to figure out how to fix. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
