gunboats on warships

i know someone surgested that you should be able to launch the boats to tow your ship in still water, this were apperently too hard to do.

what about being able to launch gunboats?... like a feature to bring crewmembers when you are at land it would be nice if you could launch gunboats when you are at sea.
lets say that warship, lineship and battleship can bring 2 gunboats. the MoW 3 and the biggest of the frigates can bring 1.

does anyone believe that this is possible?... would also be cool if it was possible to let your gunboats bring up surrendering ships, so you could concentrate on the battle... think its wrong that you can take over a surrendered ship even tho' its 500-600 yards away and surrounded by enemies.

We have only had one lesson on PLC's. I don't recall exactly what type. We learn about them at school, because they're used aboard ships. We use some sort of really old DOS program to program them, which is truly annoying. You an hardly work with it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
 
sounds old.... or maybe the school just cant afford getting the new windows based programmers :p
Is it ladder programming? or are you writing a statement list?

but to get back to the topic... i would really love to see the boats sailing towards shore when you assult a fortress. the gunboats in front to clear the beach and then the longboats in a line behind them... filled with men.

It's a nice idea, but don't count on it happening any time soon. If it happens at all, that is. We're having difficulty enough getting the bugs in the Post Build 12 mods ironed out. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

i think that the ladder programming is ok... its easy to handle... ofcourse on the newer PLC's there is a lot of funktions that you dont find in the older ones... opens up for a lot more creativity <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I am studying to become "Maritiem Officier", which is basically bridge officer + engine room officer in one. cool.... i were thinking about becoming a seaman some time back... but that pretty much changed when i got married <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

if you need some help with the PLC programming, be free to ask... i might not be the world champion, but im starting to get a hold on it.
