Harrrr! finaly got me copy AOP

skull

Sea Dog
Picked it up this morn'n and been play'n all day, Great game, I had quite a few crashes at very beggin'n, mostly walk'n around town an then none at all for 4 hours O' play'n, weird! After loot'n an plunder'n some, wanted someth'n diffrent than Devlin start'n model, so changed start'n character ter this bloke.

[attachmentid=687]

FEW crashes, i had more than 5 in an hour today, really, it is a good game, but i think that they should release a Less Buggy one, this version really crashes often.

are you using the starforce crack or not?

because im using the crack and i have few crashes as well

No crashes except when i try to ALT+TAB the game and one in the very beginning when i used an old profile for a new game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
Fine when the copies now arrive in us some more pirates will be join and talk.

Yes, the game does not like it when you try to start a new game using an existing profile, especially if you have just deleted it. If I decide to start a new game using the same profile name, I have to exit out of the game after deleting the profile, and start it back up. The consequences are usually a load screen freeze-up or crash.

my crashes are mostly on sea, if i board or go to the worldmap, and NO i dont use the starforce crack. Does a crack really work?

Yes the crack works fine, and all the PR messages that the game crashes because of the crack are ALL lies.

Aye mates,I'm use'n the crack,use a crack for SH3 as well and I have no crashes with that game,simply put,I will not have SF on me PC <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

as i said before, shure AoP is very buggy, but i think a real good portion of the problems are due to starforce.

Don't think so mate,played SH3 with SF installed unknowingly on my computer and had no crashes, created other problems though! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

yes but SH is a different game, just because some things dont cause trouble with one game dosent mean they wont with others <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> im just commenting on what im observing.

different programs utilize drivers, system rescources and stuff differently. for instance, a DX8 program with ultra high poly models and textures may lag on a modern system, but a DX9 program with even higher poly models and higher resolution textures may run perfectly fine.

why? because the two programs are coded differently.

SF is the same for any game mate, same tool removal for SH3 will work on AOP,why , cause its the same apllication that runs in yer registry not in the game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

in a sense it does run in your game, the starforce installation and detection protocolls are in the game. otherwise it wouldnt ask about starforce when you start it up the first time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

How do you change the starting character? I would like to do this as well; the default characters suck big time..

Open up yer AOP directory and look For Program\characters\character_ini.C file.scroll down to this code to change starting model.ye can also edit start perks. You must also use the no DVD crack in order for Program folder to appear in your AOP directory. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
makeref(ch,Characters[1]); //Blaze Sharp
ch.name = XI_ConvertString("Blaze");
ch.lastname = XI_ConvertString("Sharp");
ch.id = "Blaze";
ch.nation = ENGLAND;
ch.model = "officer_15"; <<<<< CHANGE MODEL HERE
ch.sex = "man";
//ch.bio = bio[0].text;

Thanks for the info, but looks like I'm scuppered. I tried the no-dvd crack, but it doesn't seem to work. Get a "run-time error" pop-up or some such. ??? Is there some other place I can get one that works? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

heres the link mate,it worked for me

I did all that. I inserted the new files into the AoP directory, and used the starforce removal tool. Booted up the game, and made as far as the blue waves screen, but then get a "run-time error" pop-up. I have no idea what else to do. And if mods won't work without a cracked version, guess I'm screwed?

Did you try manualy placing folders in AOP directory instead of extracting,maybe something screwd up there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Arrh, it be workin' now! Uninstalled the game, ran SF removal tool, reinstalled game, and extracted crack files to AoP directory with WinRAR. Installed the AoP super mod, and that works a treat as well. Huzzah! Huzzah! Ol' Cap'n Tucker be one happy pirate now.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
