Has anyone had trouble installing directx 9.0c?/Found a fix?

Hey guys, I have the problem where the game is installed, will load the intro movies, but as soon as it starts it gets closed due to an error. From what I'm reading, the problem is usually fixed by reinstalling directx9.0c from the disc that comes with the game.

I have tried this by uninstalling directx (back to a later version) and then trying to reinstall 9.0c from the game disc. However, they installer acts like its already recognizing an `up-to`-date version of directx, so no files are installed and it says something like "Selected components have been installed successfully". Then I run my dxdiag and it says I'm running directx 9.0b, so 9.0c definately wasn't installed.

Anybody have any idea how to get around this problem?

thats vcause u r running SP2. unintall it or install new windows with SP1.
