Solved Having trouble figuring out how to get promoted...

i'm playing the latest build mod, and it says in green text "Midshipsman" and according to the interface, that means I can be promoted, but how exactly do I get promoted?

I tried to going to the English governors but none of them offered the option.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

You must have a "Letter of Marque" Buy it from the Governor of the nation,you want to serve.

Which storyline? Hornblower is treated differently.

No, I'm playing the default Hawk one I think, and I'm already an enlisted officer in the English Navy. No letter of marque is an option. I'm just doing the storyline and I just never seem to get promoted.

You've got Beta 3.4 then, don't you? If I recall, indeed that one contained some issues because the "commissioned navy officer" gameplay was a new feature.

If that still doesn't work, execute the following line of code through PROGRAM\console.c:

ReceiveLetterOfMarque(ENGLAND);

It is definitely fixed in our latest Beta 3.5 WIP though that one contains some other unfinished features that we're still developing:
