HELP: importing characters from potc to aop

hi!
i've got a problem. I'd like to use some potc character in aop. the problem is that animation is different, so the new characters won't move properly. maybe there's a way to fit the models in a new type of animation, or the animation in the old type of model.
i don't have the slightest idea about how to edit a .an file... can anybody give me some tips?

The russians did it. You can do it, but you have to take the animation file from POTC, give it another name and then assign it to that model. So for example name it man2.ani, then you need to code in that THAT character uses that animation file.
 
The only suggestion I can give you is to have a look at how we managed to put AoP characters into PotC and then try to do the same in reverse. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
I MADE IT!!! i used man.an file from potc, and edited a new file, called old_man.ani, with new instructions... now it's possible to import potc characters <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> !! you just have to set refch.model.animation = "old_man";

there's only one problem... you can't completely get the aop fight mode... for example you can't feint... howevre i've fully tested the animation, and you are able to run, walk, shoot, and kill...

please report any bug...

PotC characters don't have all the same animations that AoP ones do. For example: PotC characters don't have multiple swordfighting animations; just one for attack and block. However, AoP characters don't have a swim animation.
 
that's right... in fact i had to fit the animation in a different kind of interface: so, for example you can use B and V buttons, and you do a more powerful attack, but their animations will be the same as a normal attack. but you know, you can't have everything in your life...
 
What you could try is to make the PotC characters use the AoP animation somehow. Sir Christopher Mings recentely mamaged something similar in reverse: to make Beatrice use the PotC animation, allowing her to swim. This is NOT easy though and will probably work far from ideal. maybe, but i think i should edit the .an file, whereas i've only changed the .ani one... that's much more difficult, i think...
this is already a very good result, in my opinion, i'm satisfied with it. Perhaps somone else could improve it, somebody good with graphics ?
