Help! Shipyards hate me

ejhartwell

Landlubber
When my reputation takes a dip, I can't use any ship yards (exept pirate one), I'm told to get out before they call the guards.

This is all very well, but its anoying me, i don't want to go all the way to the pirate settlement just to get some repairs.

Please tell me how to turn this feature off.

Ta

-Open program\globals.c with notepad

-Search for this section:

//define various rep boundaries for trading with merchants/shipwrights.
#define TRADEREP_MIN 10
#define TRADEREP_STRENGTH 20
#define TRADEREP_NEUTRAL 30
#define TRADEREP_WAR 60
#define TRADEREP_ALL 80

-Reduce the numbers, all to 0 if you want to be able to trade and repair always

Was this feature always in the game or was it modded in? I think it was already in the game, right? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

No, Nathan(who else <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ) added it, but long before your time <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Thanks CouchcaptainCharles! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Now I can resume my fave pastime of getting into sea battles just for fun, without having to be nice to get my ship repaired.

1 other thing tho, my personal money amount has got stuck at 900 on the character screen, but is the correct amount everyware else, and doesn't effect buying anything. Just thought sombody may have come across this before?

There is a difference between personal wealth and crew money. Crew money is the normal money you use for buying stuff. Personal money is given to you from land you own. Your personal money defines how known you are around the archipelago. The F2 > Character screen shows your personal money, while all other screens show the regular money that is used for buying stuff and anything else. Only blacksmiths are paid out of personal wealth (in the Post Build 12 mods).

i changed it to, but WT* the hole game crushed!

Maybe you should change it to 1 then? Maybe somewhere in the program, setting it to 0 would cause a "devide by 0" bug?

i have an idea for that little problem, why not give the option of threatening the shipwrights? like " you can build me any bloody ship i like, or i can put a hole in your chest and be on my way, savvy?", that way you could have ships done anywhere, but with a panalty; your ship will not be repaired very well and its quality will decrease, eg: your MOW had a MAX HP of 17500 HP and its been damaged to 16500 HP, after making the Shipwright repair it you have 17000 HP.
