help with CoAS quest

I am actually doing the quest of pedro hurtado, I already accpeted it but I did not get any key but I still have to meet him in the emerald ship the problem is that I cant find him in the ship. I ask ppl in that ship and they say that he is in the ship but I cant find him please help.
