I went to start my POTC so that I could provide a few better Screenshots for the Oxbay Treasure Quest & this is what I got ---->

Can someone give me a solution please.

Turn on error logging and see if there is a clue in the error.log or any of the other log files.

Ok this is what I came up with

What have you recently done with your computer? Did you change any hardware-related things? Or did you install any new drivers? Or any new program that might interfere? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

The only new program I've installed is Need For Speed - Most Wanted, but other than that I haven't changed anything.

Ok, now this is what I'm getting

That shouldn't cause a problem, should it? Have you installed a new DirectX version for that game? Also: You could press Ctrl+Alt+Del to see if there is anything active in the background that shouldn't be.

Have you tried rebooting your computer? Maybe even reinstalling the game? Does the stock game work?

I'm rather guessing here. I have no idea what is wrong. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

you have to i got the EXACT some problem with the runtime error and you have to reinstall the game in order to fix it, its the ONLY way to fix it
sorry mate <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Looks like your whole problem is "Undeclared identifier: START_DIFFICULTY" If you've modified the buildsettings.h file incorrectly, you might have messed this one up. Try looking at that before reinstalling.

hey, can you put the downloaded build mods on a CD?
if so could you tell me how because im getting a new dell taptop and i dont really want to wait while im downloading the files from the website

All you do is put a blank CD in your CD ROM drive, left click whatever zip or folder you want, scroll down to Send to & select D: or wheichever drive your CD is in. In the last week I have burnt 20Gig of zips, files, etc to CD.

The START_DIFFICULTY parameter is removed in the new modpack updates, because it's not needed anymore. You can now set your start difficulty in the Choose Character menu. The game does run with that setting removed, because I removed all references to it as well. Please reinstall the game and make sure that you follow the correct order and don't miss any files. Sounds like me this got caused because of a wrong installation order... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
