*Holding my Breath for the New Patch*

Been tracking the state of this patch on the Playlogic web-site. According to what a couple of the more technically saavy owners have been stating, there are now new bugs, as well as additional starforce checks that have been added to more files in the game, rather than removing some of them. I'll be keeping an eye on this, but from the sounds of it, we may be better off staying unpatched and just using our local talents to update our favored game.

Aye. It really does seem like CyberOps is our last hope.

I have nothing against Gray Angel and his team. They'e been working so hard.....
But if their company can't even afford their development team a widescreen, and the publishers push them to work on a budget, then to release half a game pre-maturely......
Kind of makes me think it's time we should commandeer the game, and simply take it over. We are Pirates after all. Bring the game to the next level, for that is liberty and dedication.

This game has far too great a potential to go down in history like this. Let's give it a bright future, and perhaps even make it the best community assimilated game in the world.

It's a way to show the world and the developers that their franchise can belong to the public as much as it can belong to them, themselves, and to defy and shame Starforce in every way imagineable.

Only through patience, care and faith in a game, can a game thrive. Playlogic, has non of that. Let's show them how it's done, shall we?

If Playlogic doesn't care for the game, then we will.

Marx once said: "A Valley shall belong to those, who can best take care of it"

I am no communist. But I strongly believe in that concept.

Kaydra i agree completely on that lady, it's the public that makes the game, if no one plays it or buys it then the development company goes straight to davy jones. They simply don't want to listen when we say where the bugs are and how and why, i mean common i fixed 133 bugs they could have fixed themselves and i don't even get paid to do it, now when i play the game i almost feel if it's my game so much work i did on it lol

**claps** Hear, Hear!! I agree with you as well, Kaydra. By showing Akella that thier game is loved by the community that is playing it so much, that we are willing to overlook the 'undocumented features' and play anyway, as well as mod the heck out of it, thats a large part of why Akella has been around making sailing games for so long.

Its only the recent use of some new publishers that shall remain un-named that SF has become so wide spread and such a dismal failure. Every SF protected game I have seen eventually has a NoCD/NoDVD or some other fix that removes the SF checks.

By us coming together as a community, supporting the Mod dev's and continuing to play the thing long after the publisher leaves it in the dust, we will be showing the important guys, the devs that they are really appreciated by thier fans.
