How can I add 48 lbs cannons to the shipyard?

Hello mates,

as you see do I want to screw up the shipyards store a little and I don't know how.

I tried some things but all what happened was that the 42 lbs were replaced with 48 lbs. So I hope tofind help here now.

don't forget to backup the files!

In the file <b>GoodsDescribe.txt</b> find the parts that describe 48 lbs cannons. It's understandable from the text so you need to change it a little.

I don't know if there allready is the description of 48 lbs cannons in the original file of your version. If not insert below Cannon_42 description block something like that:

Use some other records from that file as an example.

With my game it works perfect.

After editing copy the folders from the mod to your game directory overwriting existing files.
Much fun with these monster cannons.

Basically you will need to make modifications to several files, adding sections to each files code that would add the guns to the system itself, determine their statistics, add them to shops, give them interface icons and make them equipable by a ship.

I don't currently have a full list of each file that needs to be edited for this mod, but thats a basic rundown of what is required.

I never wanted to put new cannons into the game. I just was wondering that the 48 lbs are just for Fortres. So why shouldn't I use them on sea. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bird.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yoho" border="0" alt="bird.gif" />

Of course just for the mightiest ships.

What is the damage rate? reload time?

The game copies the damage and so on from the Cannons.init . So don't worry about this.

I thought about taking this descripiton out of it, but it's not from me. I decided to keep it there to honor englantier the great revolutioner of the weapon technology in carribean sea! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wavarr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":warr" border="0" alt="wavarr.gif" />
 
Caulk an Abrams tank up, put some powerful water jet in it, some pontoons on the side so when it fires it doesn't roll. That ought to make a mess out of any pirate ship?
 
I copied te files over and they show up in the store with the descriptions and the stats and I can buy them, but my ship (Man O War) still only says 42 lb max. I looked up the ship details and it never shnged the max, so I did it and started a new game but still no luck. Anyone have any thoughts?

I know. I just wanted the 48 lbs for the Soleil Royal and she's not limited in calibre. And I know how to get her in game :ixi . So, look at this: http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=14206

So, you can power your weapons up a little. Hope this helps you.
