How can I approach hostile ports?

Hello

I receieved a mission to drop someone of on English soil and we (the Dutch) are at war with England. when I approach the town the fort blasts the *&$£^ out of me.

How can I get this person to the port. I have tried to change my flags but this doesn't help and the game doesn't seem to change them anyway.

Is there a way to sneak into town? Or is there another way,

there is sneak option
hit enter when you near the port and choose the sneak option

actually, it's best not to be all that near the port when you sneak into the town.

If you sail up to the port on the world map, and then go into a local view to sneak into the city, you'll be rocked by the town guns and local ships, both on the way into town, and on the way out.

However, if you sneak into town from a distance away, when you leave port to head back out to sea, you'll return to your ship outside of gun range, and facing away from the port out towards the sea.

I discovered this, and have saved a LOT of money on repairs and hiring of crew since learning of it.
