How to attack city?

I tried to press spacebar following manual, but no any firing to city, what happened? How can I attack a city?

If you are sailing CLOSE ENOUGH to the city and it is NOT already hostile, you can press the "spacebar". This should fire a shot at the city/fort. If you fire enough they will become hostile and start firing back.

If however, they city is already hostile you can simply sail into it and a `pop-up` should appear with one of the options being to attack the city. Which will take you to a land battle.

Another way to attack a city if to land ashore a small ways off then march on it. When you are close enough a `pop-up` should appear, one of the choices should be to attack town.

so you cant fire your cannons vs the enemy port?

When you press the spacebar the cannon does go to the fort?
