How to combat ageing?

Justaddwater

Landlubber
Is there a way to stop ageing atall ? (except the skill) for me its a major flaw in an otherwise brilliant game, i want my pirate to last forever <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Besides, de whole point o' de game be yer racin' against de clock, to see how well ye kin do befer bein' forced into retirement! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> I am 39 years old and in poor health, playing on Rouge Captain, how far do i have left?

I've played until age 45,but yer movements are slower de older ye get,so I'd be try'n te get de harder quests done first <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />

I am now 40 and failing health, i havent completed any quests but i killed all notorius pirates, and im a duke, with one romance(which is paused now asi cant get dance mssion 2 completed).

Truth to be said, even if your pirate ages, the game never becomes impossible to play, unless perhaps if you play at the highest difficulty. If you've collected enough gold (700 000 to a few million) you can go on forever without dividing the plunder (and the only time you can be forced to retire is when you divide your plunder).

Harrr! matey,ye hang aroun' 'ere long enuff,an we'd be turn'n ye inter a scalywag pirate in no time at all <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I think I'm 45 and in average health or something, I defeated all pirates, am Duke with all the nations except Spain, that's Admiral I think. I've done the family quest, have a SotL, and have the daughter of the PR gov as wife (Beatiful), and have found 2 cities. I have about 105 fame points, and still have a lot of things do do, and I'm in pretty good health! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

At 45 the best you should be able to do (with medicine skill and both herbs) is Poor health in your status screen.

<!--QuoteBegin-"Refar"+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE("Refar")</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I have made notes on my Health playing on Swashbuckler and the dates are the same as in the table above.
It seems, that the aging/loose of health have the same formula on all difficulty levels.

Standard are 3 Years per health Level,
Medicine adds 1 Year per health Level and
Medic Items add 1 more Year per level (Both together. I don't know what the first item alone does - 0.5 Years?)

And there are 8 health Levels (With 6 names - poor and failing occurring twice each):
(Basic / With Medicine OR Items / With Both Medicine AND Items)

18 / 18 / 18 - Excellent
21 / 22 / 23 - Fine
24 / 26 / 28 - Good
27 / 30 / 33 - Fair
30 / 34 / 38 - Poor
33 / 38 / 43 - Poor
36 / 42 / 48 - Failing
39 / 46 / 53 - Failing (After reaching this age, You will be automatically retired when Dividing plunder)<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

It's been a while since I've played, so yes, if you say that it can't be average, I beleive you... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Oh and, easiest difficulty. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
