How to improve graphics?

Any clue or help about how and what to touch/modify in order to get the most of our new graphics cards?

TIA

For PotC? or in general?

In PotC i dont think you can change much(other than the screen resolution in the games 'configure' options). If your after general tweaks for your card i'd go check out the manufacturers website?

For POTC, in addition to screen resolution.

BTW maybe are there certain parameters to tweak in my graphic card specially interesting for POTC?
Because I remember some screens captures of POTC but with a very nice detail, and a post about anisotropic (????) filters or something like that...

I dunno... I've seen PotC trailer and it certainly doesn't have any anisotropic filtering...

But, it would certainly be nice.

i think you confusing it with the version of potc before disney uhum f*cked it up(sorry bout the obscene language)

If it was already called "Pirates of the Caribbean", then I think it was already disneyized version <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Besides, why would Disney want to downgrade the graphic quality?

ask somebody of the old community how the game was called i totally forget it was a sequel to another game that is what i know untill disney "interfered" and changed it to potc

You should contact Merciless Mark. He posted some screenshots some time ago that looked quite amazing and they are PotC + the Pre Build 13 version from then.

If you are using an Nvidia card you can access the Nvidia control panel, and set Anti aliasing and Anisotropic filtering there.

usually right click on desktop and then go "Nvidia Display"

if its an ATI card? well cant help you if thats the case, since i only have experience with Nvidia drivers

Should I set anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering for OpenGl or for Direct3D? I guess the later.

Should I set those parameters to the maximum allowed for my graphic card?

Thanks in advance.

One thing i have noticed about PotC is that often the way it does things work across the game. Like the wind being the same on land as it is when you go to sea.

And looking at the intro video and escape oxbay video, you can see all the graphics used in those are exactly the same models+textures as used in game(ships+chars), just much better quality. So yeah i guess the potc engine is capable of much better results?

Do those tips for the NVIDIA card make a big difference to the graphics? I've got ATI currently, but will be getting a passively cooled NVIDIA soon.
