How to install build 13 full version?

Hey! I bought PotC and found out that it was full of bugs, major ones. I tried to fing a patch and came up with nothing. Good thing I stumbled upon this mod, 'cos it should fix some of the bugs and add new stuff to the game! So thanks to the mod team! But now I'd like to get it work <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

So, I downloaded the build 13 full and installed it.

1. Where am I supposed to install it? Anywhere I wish?
- I installed it to the same folder as the "original" POTC was installed so the path was like this:

D:\PoC\Pirates of carribean: Build 13

-First thing I had to change was that : mark, windows can't have those in filenames. So the final path was:

D:\PoC\Pirates of carribean Build 13

-Installation continued, I let the installation wizard do the file moving (and I did it in full screen mode)
-Installation was completed, I clicked yes when wizard asked me if I wanted to launch the game. I clicked yes.
-CRASH
-Error message:


Runtime Error!

Program: D:\PoC\Pirates of carribean Build 13\engine.exe

Abnormal program termination



This is whats in the system.log in the installation folder:

2. What am I supposed to do to get it work?

I think the reason for the problem is because you installed the Build 13 mod in a seperate folder. If you installed the original game to D:\PoC, then you should install Build 13 to the same folder.

To fix this issue without installing again: Move all files from D:\PoC\Pirates of carribean Build 13 to D:\PotC and execute RunMe.bat. It should work after that.
 
Ok.

Can I uninstall the mod and just install it again to the correct folder?

Or will that cause something to crash?
 
I updated my above post. Just move all files from from D:\PoC\Pirates of carribean Build 13 to D:\PotC and execute RunMe.bat.

You can also remove the entire D:\PoC\Pirates of carribean Build 13 folder and install again. The result should be the same. I think the first alternative is the quickest.

You should also get the update2 and install it!

It fixes some problems. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
fixes some <u>critical</u> problems. you should also get the fix for the ship berthing menu.

All files on my site are currently unavailable. I'm still hoping it'll be fixed soon. But HawkerT has provided temporary webspace for just about all important files <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9544" target="_blank">here</a>.

Wat exactly is your problem? What does work? What doesn't work? What happens when the problem occurs?
 
It's the same problem he had, it pops up an error message when i starts it after i've installed it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
But when i install it, then after i check in the POTC folder it doesn't even exist!!
 
He didn't install it into the right folder at first. Make sure you install Build 13 into the exact same folder as you installed the original game to.

However, installing it to the wrong folder will not cause an error message when starting the original game. The original game will run just fine, just without the mods. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
i didn't unzip it into the PotC directory at all. i just ran the build 13 installation program that comes with it.
