How to ransom prisoners ?

I seems to be having a bit of a problem ransoming me prisoners ! Been at sea too long ye see, Me parrot doesn't know how so I thought I'd ask you blokes. So, how does it work then ?? I got a cargo hold full o prisoners an I can't get rid of em. I tried landing on the islands from whence they came, that didn't work either ! I got build 13.

You have to talk to your prisoners. Only then will you be able to decide what you are going to do with them and what they are supposed to do. By talking to them and making a decision, the prisoners will disappear. Hope this helps.

have you gone into your cargo hold through the action bar at the bottom of the screen while you are at sea? Your prisoners should be there and you can talk to them and ransom them off or maybe let them be officers on your ship.
