i can't wait for pieter's reaction on this. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

Why???
how do you mean that???

Chinese arrived at Barbados:

Nice, nice, we now should take additional caonnons from the tool and place it in the right spot, so you can actually see them, and we need the high poly texture.

Nicely done! She even looks better than the real Batavia. I don't like that ship's overly high and narrow stern.

Nice job on that Chinese ship as well! If we ever get to making an At World's End quest for our game, we'll be needing a Chinese ship. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

thanx.

you´re right. she´s really high. i like my Batavia more than the original.

i´ve spend more time at the chinese ship. when it´s done, i upload her.

I'll be looking forward to it. Of course we'll be putting those ships into PotC if you don't mind. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

the chinese ship has a really nice hull, but the rigging looks pretty wrong. although i doubt the actual battens could be put in-game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> the correct shapes would be good enough. besides that, that's the fast schooner rigging, isn't it?

I wonder what could be done with textures for those Chinese sails. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

<b>Batavia redone</b>

I redid the Batavia:
- changed the skinsize: 1024x512 pixels so the skin is more detailed.
- changed the skin also, so that it is more detailed.
- added cannonmodels to the ship.
- placed the cannon locators on the right spot, so they actually fire from the right spot.

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/Batavia.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

(Don't mind the floating crewmembers, going to do something about it)
Well, what do you think?

looks funny from the stern. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" /> is that spritsail so damaged because you shot through it yourself? it happens with some other ships too. anyway, the ship looks pretty good. i might grow to like it once i get one.

I have uploaded Yohoho's and my Batavia for Potc.
It is on the FTP folder under Thomas the Terror files.
Just unrar it on your installation and then add this to ships.init:

Yeah I like it! What did you change, ThomasTheTerror? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
A bit narrow in the stern, though, but maybe once you lower the ship in the water, its probably nothing..

Thanks very much! That looks really good! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Well, what do you think?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Hi Thomas,
nice redone. How did you make the changes? my other models need cannons and hi-textures too.
My next finished model is a heavy frigate with 46guns in batavia style.
followd by 2 S.o.L. (1*56guns and one about 70guns) in frenchstyle, all models looks like 1640.

Stupid me...Missed that completely <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
Would like to try it ingame, but I cant due to the Sparrow Search. Again, its a really nice job by you both, ThomasTheTerror and yo ho ho!

1. Open the texture in a texture program and resize image: 1024 (width) x 512 (height)
2. Copy and paste (and resize the copied parts if needed) detailed parts from detailed shiptextures.

cannons:
1. Open Inez diaz tool (TGA/BMP of your skin must be in the Textures directory of Pirates of the Caribbean map)
2. click Scene => Edit scene and double click on the cannon.gm => move to position and use the sliders in the menu to get them in the right place. (write the coordinates of your cannons down, it will help with the cannon locators)
3. If all the cannons are place, remove the root model (in this case the Batavia1) and it's locators. Save it as: Shipname_cannons (Batavia1_cannons).
4. Open Batavia, click locators => view => details. Then add another line: 1st box: cannons, 2nd geometry, X,Y and Z values are 0. Too adjust the cannonlocators fill in the X Y and Z coordinates of the cannonmodels you added. ATTENTION: You have to count 0,5 with the Z coordinates (if it is negative you have to count -0,5 with it).
5. Save the model.

Voila, done!

Wow, very nice ship, good amount of details! I´d love to sail that beauty in PotC, looks almost like my fav vessel in VCO, the lvl 8 adventurer (has a different rigging, though).
