I sacked a town!

First time, those dam forts are too trong!...i had to wait to get my hands on a Man-o-War in order to pound the shit out of a fort, (Level 1) and boy did i lose men and took quite a beating...but did sack the hell out of Monserrat...
 
If ye wanna get yer feet a little wet, try Jamaica, fairly easy with a single Corvette <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
If you want to play it clever,

I say: Culverines, manuever Zig-Zag, towards the fort, then zig zag away from the fort, utilizing both broad-sides of your ship <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

The Zig Zag confuses the fort's firing trajectory.

If you own a Man-O-War, fire manually from quite a far distance away, using first person on-deck... aim just *alittle* in-accurately on purpose, and u'll end up hitting up to 3 different cannon placements at once.
 
Ahoy thar Mateys

I be wantin tew ask ye a question concerning this ere town/colony sackin routine.

1) Can yew be sackin the Pirates on thar lil Island....I tried to attack thar Leaders place, but the two guards outside his door, apparently have Immunity...at least my two responded to sword cuts, but didnt lose health. Also the Island doesnt have a Fort, so accoding tew this ere Manual that is how yew'm is supposed to start this lil war of Acquisition. Besides that a whole parcel of thar friends showed up, an afore too long I started losin people first.....funny thing is that at times it seemed that the Pirates were wailing away at one another, unless others of my crew were also getting involved. It is hard to tell the differences with the game being so new on the characters....if there are any differences

2) Buying houses inside colonies, when does that happen. Also it is hard to determine when a colony is ripe for the ...uh....sacking I guess.... The manual seems somewhat vague about levels, some conoies have governors and some have locked dooors, so what is up with that?? Is there a way to tell if there is a governor or is it bad timing on my part showing up outside of 9 to 5 hours?
