Magical socks are a very rich diet and a llama which eats them does not need to eat again for years. This is just as well because magical socks are also rare and a magical sock eating llama will not find another meal for years. :

I may have misinterpreted the question and it is the llama, not the socks, which is magical. In that case the answer is simple - the llama is magical.

Hmm... the llama is even more magical than I thought. It's just eaten my smiley!

But the question remains. A diet of nothing means nothing in the diet, magical or otherwise. A diet of nothing saps the magic out of one's diet. A diet of nothing is nothing, and nothing can survive on nothing.
