Inez Diaz' Tool

maeh

Landlubber
Hi there.

Does anyone know where i can get the Inez Diaz' Tool for locator-editing? Or is there an alternative?

Thanks a lot.

Why don't you just try <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=20" target="_blank">this forum's Downloads section</a>...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I would also recommend any- and everyone interested in modding CoAS to check out the following threads:
<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=10288" target="_blank">Pirates Ahoy! FTP</a>

<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">Setting Error Logs for PotC Bugtesting</a>

<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11380" target="_blank">Tools, Tutorials and Information</a>

The first one shows you how to access the PotC Files FTP, which you could also use for storing CoAS modifications.
The other three are related to PotC, but since CoAS is based on an updated version of the same engine, much of it will still apply.

'cause the diaz tol doesnt work so well (cant open the locator-files), i downloaded the akella tools, but i cant unpack. can anyone tell me the password please?

I only want to add reload locators to the small and the hugh ship model.

What do you mean with "can't open the locator-files"?
What kind of locators do you want to add?

For example:
RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\decks\deckLow
<-- in this and in the huge ship deck model is only one "walkable" door (reload locators). I need to add one or two more.

BUT the dias' tool cant open the deckLow_locators.gm file. I get an error.

Edit:
I wrote a mod, which allows you to go on the deck from your cabine. From there you can go to the known other rooms. That works perfectly for the medium ship (the model has allready 3 reload locators), but not for the other two.

We've got that location in the PotC Build mod too, but we did manage to modify the locators.
You might want to check the files from the Build 14 Alpha 9 download.

'cause i dont have an high speed connection at the moment, i cant download an 800mb file for now. Is there a way to get only the *locators.gm? Or is there an other way to open this in a readable manner?

The files in the attachment are the locators files from the Build mod.

Thank you :)
I tried.
It's not compatible :-/
I also tried to misuse an officer locator and that doesnt work, too. But that was expectedly <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Can you upload the CoAS locator file? I want to see what happens when opening it in the TOOL.
I don't expect Maya is very good for making small adjustments, so it would be much better if you could do it through the TOOL.

Both open fine for me. Note that you will not actually get to see anything, since locator files do not contain any 3D geometry.
Try to open one of them in the TOOL, then select View>Locators and then click on the blue underlined text "Locators" to see them.
These are the locators in text-form and you can modify them here or add more.

Ahhhhhh. I made an mistake before. I tried to open the file via Locators -> read from file <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
Thank you ^^

Best way to see locators is using Maya. The locators are created as generic locations within the maya model geometry designated by name. In Maya you can see the locators used for sails, lights, cannons and more.

Just so you all know.

Can i do that with 3dMax also?

But to see the locators, i had enabled the visible locators in the location_loader.c
Now i had to edit them^^

Thank you ^^<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->You can export locators to a text-file and then import them again with that option.
Useful when you want to copy locators to another file.
