I thought I would share here with everyone what happened when I decided to slip in my own custom sails - I replaced two of the pirate emblemed sails with my own, and wasn't thinking that I'd replaced a black sail with a white one...

In looking at this, I realize I forgot to put the HOURGLASS in. I meant to add that to my sails as this symbol is my own invention and I am going to consider it my own flag...

BTW, if any of you notice, the deck and masts of my ship look a little *different* - that's because I've been working on a "cleaner" deck for ships... I'm not sure I like it, but Grumblepunk wanted one for a ship model he made and I was fiddling with it yesterday. I'll post a closer look at it if anyone's interested.

And hey neat sails, but what exactly was the goof? Will this be that Catalina sailor's pirate emblem?

I was thinking that I wanted something *different* from the typical skull and crossed bones flag, and while I like one that is commercially available and modern, it's a flag everyone can buy... So I decided to design one of my own.

The main design is an amalgam of several elements taken from old tombstones. As you can see, I used it in my sig for my "guild" badge... I tried to open the TARGA tga.tx file with Photoshop CS.
I thought you could easly creat your personal logo but I couldn,t open that file at all.
So HOW DO YOU CUSTOMIZE YOUR SAILS???? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
the .tx file format is not TARGA and you cannot open it in Photoshop - what you need to do is convert from .tx to .tga and then you can edit it in PSCS.

photobucket.com is mine. It's free and has a lot of storage/transfer bandwidth, and just the other day they overhauled the look of the site. It's much less rough, much more pretty now.

Speaking of statues of Cat, last night while looking for gun images on a pirate product website I came across a larger picture of the little female pirot image she uses below her pirate flag. It looks better in detail... the tiny thumbnail she uses just reminds me too much of that Pokemon kid.

I added the background, flames, and flag, but the statuette is real (about 11 inches tall), and you can buy it if you can find it - I have one, got her off of eBay. I think there are three more in the series but the others are "girly" statutes - more for the men, with bare breasts and lots of leg, IIRC. This one was the only "practical" looking female pirate of the series. I love the coat!

I think there are more smaller female pirate statues around but this one, IMHO, is the best. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
