Is there going to be an English version of Seadogs 2?

Just curios, but Is there going to be an official English version of Seadogs 2?
Or must we hope for an Fanbase translation?

Akella knows they have a huge fanbase that would want the English version of SeaDogs 2 - it's a matter of ironing out whatever copyrights/fees/legal language that would allow them to release it in English... When William and I talked with them at E3, they really couldn't say anything about the chances because they didn't know themselves how everything would turn out... BUT... Well personally I don't see there any Problem with Seadog 2 in English, since almost no one buys PotC any more.
 
Well, it's who owns (or bought) what, I think... Legalities need to be straightened out before any English version of SeaDogs 2 can be released...

But I'm sure there will be enough People who would try to translate it.
Since PotC was moddable I'm sure Seadog 2 will too. It's almost the same Game.
Actually we could say that it IS the same Game and that the first release was just not finished completly.

PoTC was translated in spanish (my version at least show it!) so I think distributors will do so again.
Anyway; for future mods maybe you´ll need translation to "Cervantes´ lenguaje" so just feel free to ask for it and I´ll do my best at least. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Well, the worldwide distribution for PotC was Bethesda, and Akella is not working with them anymore. 1C is handling their publishing and distribution in Russia, and I'm sure that whenever it is LEGALLY okay for Akella to reveal the publisher of worldwide distribution of their games, they will do so. AoP has been a "touchy" subject legally, because of the whole Disney lash-up for PotC (which was supposed to be the original Sea Dogs 2). There is probably a lot going on behind the scenes that Akella cannot talk about until legal terms have been agreed to...
 
1C games are generally distributed by UBI SOFT. Well the Il-2 series is and that's 1C-Maddox games. I think Maddox owns 1C but I don't know if this means UBI SOFT will have the rights out side of Russia or not. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Who handles some of Akella's other 1C games? I was under the impression that 1C has handled all their Russian version games for quite a while.

Software developers usually don't own their publishers :)

True. All russian developers have this practice. They use one publisher for a worldwide release and another to publish games in Russia. And 1C is the biggest of all the domestic publishers. They've always worked with Akella and Maddox.
