I've taken a bit of time off from PotC, and came back to it today as preparation for an upcoming Renaissance faire. I've played a bit with SMP, and, more heavily, Orbiter. I dove back into PotC this morning over coffee, and set sail from Conceicao souteast to Isla Muelle. On the way, I ran across a scratch Froggie fleet (lineship, pinnace, and fluyt) with my corvette (flagship) and lineship.

After a 45 minute battle (winds were poor and I didn't have the weather gage), I finally captured and plundered the lineship and fluyt, and sank the pinnace outright.

Not bad for having docked an Apollo spacecraft at the International Space Station yesterday, and back on the high seas today. Curious.... what game or sim were you using to dock the Apollo spacecraft?? I to have a love for the sea... whether it is in space or on earth... That sim in space sounds like something I would like...

It's a free simulator called <a href="http://www.orbitersim.com" target="_blank">Orbiter</a>. I've been using it for a few years now, and it just keeps getting better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Looks fun!!!!! SPACE PIRATE TIME! have u guys seen "firefly" the series or "serenity" the movie???
 
Yep. Have them both on DVD. I think they are great. Too bad the "Firefly" series was cancelled.

He hints at it, however ...

Joss also said in an interview that making a second movie would be entirely dependent upon how well Serenity did in the box office (I was in line for the first show ... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ) ... and it didn't do that well.

Serenity and Firefly survived on die-hard fans that saw something incredible in it (his ideas came from Michael Shaara's "The Killer Angels" - highly recommended book) ... If Fox and every other network wasn't screwing us of good shows to give us Reality-Crappin' TV, Firefly would still be on right now.

Joss always wanted to make Serenity Part 1 of 3. I seriously hope he gets that chance.
 
Yeah, well here in Australia it did pretty well, i know alot of common people who liked it, and the dvds are everywhere in every video store... YEAH I HATE THAT REALITY TV.... but imagine a reality tv on a pirate ship! Like groups of people have to chase each other down... or try to out run a navy ship in the carribean...now that would be tv, fully historical reality tv.
