Ok, hi all of PMT reading this, and anyone else. Ok, this may seem like a lot, but trust me, all the painstaking efforts would be...revolutionary. ok Capt Cookie and I have devised an idea on what is called the "European Expansion Pack". it would come AFTER the expansion pack yew be workin on right now, it would be an add on. i suggest you make it at least a couple of months after the expansion pack, for people should get the feel of the original expansion first. Ok what we call the European Expansion Pack is where you guys would make all the major countries of Europe added on to the game map, so you can sail away from the Archepelago/Caribbean, and to Europe. You can dock to any of the coastal countries, (or at least the ones that exist in POTC, i.e. France, England, so on.) as for the countries WITHOUT a coast, yew should make a big dock that is on a different part of an allied countrie, where u would dock there. once ur docked, you can travel some of the country, or go travel the big land of Europe. when you travel, it would be just like sailing in the sea, where a map comes up and it showss some little ship. but instead, yew see land, and a little Carrage. you can also go into "real sail" thing where u can see ur ship control it shoot, ecetra. you can be attacked by bandits, land pirates, any landlubber who thinks he is worty of fighting a Sea Dog like yews would be. also, yew should add Capt Cookie's idea of havin the carriage have a swivel gun and one cannon aboard it. yew can also escort merchants, hunt down fugitives and so on. and you can leave whenever you want to go back to the Caribbean. also, i think that when ur up for promotion, you should only be able to go to the king and be promoted by him. oh yeah! yyou cna meet the kings and queens! mages! magicians! monks!

HEY OL CAPT COOKIE! LOOKIE HERE!--> yew may add on ANYTHING yew want, cuz besites, its OUR idea, not mine, u thought up a few things, and im sure u got more!

anyone else may add on as they please! and please dont say its not possible, cuz i know it is somehow, its just a big thing to make, but nonetheless worth it!

oh yeah, one more idea. there should be a WHOLE nother "Main quest" that you can do AFTER the actual main quest where u get that treasure and defeat the black pearl. the extra main quest will take place both in Europe AND caribbean. and yew shoudl also add many side quests for europe too! xD: :cheers:

maybe something like you could dock at a port then fast travel to a place where you get on your carriage like ship. but instead of the little row boat it would be the carriage itself. and maybe to add interest have men on top of the carriage with muskets or something cool like that. :cheers

<span style='`font-size`:19pt;`line-height`:100%'>ok, ur ol CaptJack is at it again with ideas for this splended 2nd expansion that should be made. ok, there should be land battles, maybe we could make artillery, you know, land cannons and all. and also, see troop battles somehow, but we gotta make sure that the people fighting ACUALLY fought each other in that time period. ok, i just have to say, to Cat, or anyone on the PMT, if and when this is being made, i WILL help out in any way possible, because by the time this would be in "producion", i would have Maya 4.5 or somethin AND also Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 from my dad. so any help i can do! same with storylines for quests you would make for this expansion!!! remember, this is only for ideas, cuz i know that an expansion is already comin out, this expansion idea is supposed to come AFTER this one that u guys are makein now. so take ur time! i just think my idea could really revolutionize the game, just as Build 11 or the current expansion will. :cheeky: </span>

maybe what might be posssible is to ahve like horsse or something i know the legs wouldnt move but it would be cool. artillery is a good idea as well. maybe something like you can capture an enemy supply wagon and it would be like when you board an enemy and take everything.

oh yeah forgot, yeah thankx mate, u got some fine ideas, and i think with ur help, and others, this expansion, if anyone EVER makes it, could be even 100 times better than my first idea minus all our idea updates xD: so please! anyone, just tell me waht u think should be added on, or what u think COULDNT be made...or just say this was a good idea, or bad, but i dont see how this would be bad :cheeky !

This is possible, I suppose, but will be a HUGE TASK that won't take "just a couple of months" to work on... The expansion package that will eventually be released has been worked on (planning stages) since (I believe) SeaDogsII (before it was PotC) was announced... That's been a while... Think about it... This takes a LOT OF HARD WORK...

I think there may be plans like this already in the works - for the future - so just keep adding ideas here and hopefully there will be some response from the folks who are working on it in the PMT. (no, I am not one)

Here is a suggestion - work yourselves at learning how to make new ship models, or new textures, or create a new quest - so you will be able to stick your own fingers into the mix when it comes down to doing a design like this... There is always room for more modders - and more ideas...

I would have laughed out loud if you had told me back in January that I would one day be designing a quest for this game and actually learning the code and how to model. I'm an old pirate, lads, and compared to some of you young pirates, WELL. If I can twist my brain around that `weird-looking` code and make sense out of it, I am SURE you lads can do it too... Just start looking at it and you'll see...

There are some tutorials coming from the PMT sometime in the near future, so that will help!

Like I said before, keep the ideas coming! Ideas are never unwelcome! xD: :cheers
 
thankx cat, i just hope modders check this regularly, for i think that ideas may keep coming and coming even AFTER the current expansion comes out! by that time, itll be an even BETTER idea with everyones input! thankx Cat for the confermation on the "can it work?"! great now i know itll work, im more motivated to make up ideas! that goes for u too Cookie! lol dont forget bout this! :cheeky xD:
 
Nice ideas, but totally unrealistic. Sorry, but I've to say this. I can only speek for the coding side, but believe me, just to keep the game playable on average hardware is a huge task. Adding europe? I fear not with the current engine.

But - as Catalina suggested - why do you not create your own mods? Creating a mod is at least as much fun as playing the game! It's a little more difficult to start, but it last longer. (I'm coding PotC now for about 3 month and it's as much fun as it was on the first day, is playing the same for you?)

i need maya 4.5. if i had it i might try to do some modeling and such. and i need those tutorials cat was talking about to get started. :)
 
aye, same with cookie...i will have Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 from my dad, and ill have Maya 4.5 too very soon! i cant wait, cuz then ill be able do to a few things, and if its good enough, i hope to be able to give a few "contributions" to the mod section of piratesahoy :) :cheers

either way, i like your opinion scheffnow, cuz that shows how hard it really would be. impossible almost...maybe. thats why i wish they would make a TRUE Sea Dogs 2 with a better engine....oh well, i can dream eh? :yes :cheers
 
I dunno, I think perhaps you could have an environment that you could "warp" to - taking "months" to get there - that could be based upon current environments but merely CALLED "office of Spanish King" or something like that - you wouldn't have to actually PHYSICALLY add on the continent of Europe or have towns to walk around in... That's how I picture this - you couldn't say, sail into and walk around a port and have it be Seville, for instance, but you could "goto" another place, a room or a tavern or whathaveyou (something for a certain quest you might create) and call it Spain... No outside streets, just interiors. ???

If you were willing to look at those "limitations" I think it could be done with perhaps a little retexturing on an existing environment. ??? I may be wrong, but it seems to me (with my limited knowledge of how all this stuff runs) THAT could work without putting too much of a strain on how the game plays.
 
if we ARE TRULY that limited cat, which dont worry, im not upset...*cries to himself*...HEY DONT LOOK AT ME IM CRYING! :) just jokin...yeah but if we truly are that limited, then the best thing to do is this:

upon the idea of "going to europe", all it will be is an interface, you will hear sounds too, and also some pretty pictures. you will have a HUGE interface so you have choices to do while you are in europe, but with the current engine, we cant have free walking, just interfaces. ok, if you DO make it right, it can work!!! :yes like for example:

you get to the English main port: interface comes up, shows a picture of a harbor, just a picture, and you have a sh**load of choices on the interface. when you leave the harbor into town, which would be one of the choices on the interface, when you reach the town, an new interface comes up giving a buncha choices and ANOTHER beautiful picture. maybe there can be NUMEROUS interfaces JUST for the town, divide the town/cities into sections so you have many choices. you can also go to "travel europe" interface choice, so you can choose a country to go to. maybe while you travel to a different country, ther can be a cool little video thingy. i know starlancer makes these, so we could ask him about those. do you get what i mean cat? does this ALL make sense? if not, ill explain ANYTHING that you didnt get into more detail, cuz i KNOW that THIS is workable, or at least easier to make. not as cool, but still AWESOME cuz you can go to europe, making it realistic. :cheers

oh yeah, we could also probably add Cat's idea of only interiors too...like only interfaces when ur outside, but if you enter a building via interface choice, then you can be walking around, but ONLY in interiors, maybe we can retexture a lot of the rooms currently. :)
