june 11 post build works!!!

I just completed the main story and most of the side missions for the sunday, june 11, post buld 12. The mod works great!!! Thank you to all the modders!!! I didnt know how much time you had to test the mod so ill give you some feedback.

<u>Game</u>
I got to a level 57 character and probably played 10,000+ game days with relativly few screen freezes and ctds.
I did the main story and most of the side missions/quests added with almost no problems. Great Job!!!

<u>Problems</u>
I encountered some problems but was able to fix most of them by tweaking the build settings and reinitializing when I reloaded.

In Islle Mulle the priest stays in the Animists lair cell after I completed the strange things/missing children quest. I had to go to the lair instead of the church to access the Islle Mulle Church library in the main quest.

Also on Islle Mulle Zaid Murro is not the merchant so I couldnt start his bandit quest or the Clair Larrouse quest.

<u>Boarding Bugs</u>
My ship boardings went fine. Sometimes the music cuts out or I need to sidestep (press d) to get to the cabin but these things are minor.

I was having trouble boarding surrenderd ships so I just turned the surrender option off in InternalSettings.h by setting SURR_GLOBAL_SCL to 0.

<u>Other Troubles</u>
I had some trouble with the added island locations and some time delays at the other islands but the quests went fine

Overall I thought the sunday june 11 post build mod was excellent and I hope my feedback has helped. Three Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> I am going to start a new game.

I started a new game and was able to do the Clair Larrouse, Viglila Mendes, and Zaid Murro quests on Isle Mulle. I was thinking Zaid Murro was the Spanish merchant but I talked to him at the port instead. I've now completed the main and all side quests in my 2 games and they worked fine. Great Job <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

In my new game I tried to get The Top Titles for all the nations at once. Its not much fun only attacking coasters and pirates <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> Is there a later update that fixes the hoist flag/relations bug? Until then I would recommend allying with Spain, France, and Portugal or Holland, England and Portugal so that you can do large fleet battles that improve your relations.
 
What hoist flag/relations bug do you mean? What I usually do is to join in the service of the Dutch, then I go and attack all French ships I encounter. Sometimes I also start sinking Spanish ships (Sorry Petros <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> ).
 
When I have a LoM from all nations at once I can't attack their ships without hoisting the jolly roger. The hoist flag command works, but if I use it to capture a french battle fleet, I dont get + relation points from the nations at war with the french. I would think the English and Dutch should be happy that I took out some enemy french warships.

With the new options in KK relations mod, If I fly a Dutch flag, all ships hostile to the Dutch should attack me weather I am frendly with their nations or not. I really like this idea however it only works in the begining of my games. I think doing certin missions or recieving titles cancels the effects of the mod.

I'll try a new game and see how long I can get the KK mod to work. I'll get LoMs from all nations but skip the titles from the govenors. I'll post back and let you know how it turns out <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

The hostile flag mod is not working for me. I got Letters of Marque from all nations. When I fly a Dutch Flag, the French, English, and Spanish ships are <b>NOT </b> hostile to me. Their ships are green on the battle map and I have to manually fire or hoist the jolley roger to make them my enemy. When I manually fire on them, I lose my land/titles from that nation. When I hoist the jolley roger, and take their ships, my relations with all the nations stays the same <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Whats the point of having the hoist flag command anyways?

Is anyone else having problems with flags/relations?

I think you should open up BuildSettings.h and set NATIONS_ENEMY_TO_FLAG_ALWAYS_HOSTILE to 1. That should make the French, English and Spanish ships hostile, even though you do have a LoM. I don't know what will happen to your relations though when you attack them. I can imagine the governors won't be pleased if you attack them even though you had a LoM.

The Hoist Flag command is useful to make all ships near you hostile. When you go back to the worldmap, your normal flag will be raised again. But there is a chance that someone in a port will recognize you for the pirate you are.

if that was an update, give me a link to it so i can use it because im really getting mad at the game with all the errors and problems because i just installed the latest update (August one) and the sabre u get at the beginning isnt there and the game crashes when i try to axcess the locker
 
for get my last post except the link for the update as i have found the answer to my problem, i had a runtime error and had to reinstall the game, i installed the mods and then the august update not knowing i needed the pre_b13_upd_3-8-06 aswell so some files were missing, i got it all fixed now so all i want is the update u had used Stowaway when i got through the game with few or no problems
 
He used the Sunday 11 June 11 update, which is a much older update. I still have it, but it is supposed to be installed on top of the post_b12_full.zip file and not on top of the pre_b13_base.zip file.

You shouldn't need the 3 August update. The 5 August update contains everything the 3 August update contains, but it also contains a bugfix. Unfortunately that bugfix doesn't work entirely right, so I'll make anyother new update today.
 
I have also encountered some problems with the "flag/relation" part of the game like "Stowaway".
I started a career as Pirate, met a french fleet with almost 6 or 7 big war ships, but they were all friendly.
I attacked them but they were just sitting there like ducks, all with sails down.
Since I am already flying the Jolly Roger, there shouldn't be a need to raise it again. But even bringing up the Jolly Roger in battle didn't work. They were still friendly. (I'm running a clean Pre-Build 13 Installation, with the August 5th Update).

Something different:
Since I play as a Pirate, is it possible to raise the Pirates Relationship towards me somehow? Their attitude towards me is always -60. I can make it worse when I attack Pirates, but is it possible to raise it somehow too? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

That crash to the desktop bug when on board switching from 1st to 3rd camera view, that I described in another thread, sometimes occurs. When it occurs even starting a new game won't bring anything. From my experience, a complete reinstallation is necessary, then it works again until the next crash. It MUST have something to do with the 5th August Update, 19th July worked perfect.

About the friendly French: Did you have a Letter of Marquee from any nation?

I can't imagine where the switching cameras crash might come from. So after you got this crash, you really have to reinstall the game all over again? What happens if you don't reinstall the game, but simply start a new game?

Playing as a pirate has never really been finished as a gameplay option. You can join country's navies to increase your relations with these nations, but no such option exists for the pirates.
 
About a letter from the Marquee, no I don't have any letter. From no nation. Since I just started a new game and have done the first 3 or 4 missions for the Governour of Redmond.

About the crash...
After I got that camera switching crash, I had to do a complete reinstallation of the game, the Build and the 5th August Update. So far 2 or 3 times. Just starting a new game, will bring nothing. Then it keeps on crashing when I try to switch the cameras. It's one of the weirdest bugs, ever to occur in the Build Mod.
Only reinstallation will solve this nasty problem.
And nobody can tell, when it will show up. Maybe at the beginning, or in the middle of the game, or just before you've completed the game or maybe it won't show up at all! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
The only thing I can tell is, that it's definitely caused by the 3rd / 5th August Update. 19th July works absolutely perfect. I've played the 19th July Update several times.

yes i have the 5 august update and i have a big problem while boarding ships, if i speed up the game it will sometimes crash and other times i cant procede to the next level, its like locked or something and i have read that someone else has the same problem

o and by the way SKULL(y)76 i agree with you about the july update, it did seem to work alot better and never had the few problems that the august 5 has... (no disrespect pieter i really like what u have done with the game and i know ur trying <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )
 
For those players who want to "PLAY" PotC with Build Mod, it might be a good idea to stick with the 19th July Update and use the 5th of August Update ONLY for bug testing and fine-tuning. I just had my 4th crash.
I wish I had a second PC. One for playing and another for Bug testing.<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />
