Killing for an angry woman...

LittleMorgan

Landlubber
I have this side quest from an angry woman to kill her ex or whatever he is.
Well, I found the guy in a town but apparently he does not leave - I waited outside town for some days but his ship didn't show up.
Then I left and came back about 2 weeks later and he was still wandering around in the streets... am I supposed to kill him right there or what?
Doing so will make all the guards coming after me, too... that is the plan?

yep plus i think it lowers your standing, but i dunno how you talked to him and not gotten in a fight, when i convoed my 1st one good old ian being the brainiac he is told him i am here to kill you, then even if he draws first and you just stand there you are wanted by all the guards in town.

would have been nice if you had a few options to like tip him off about the woman, or even have them hire you to kill her. rather than the railroad of a proposition if you agree to her terms then you are locked into killing them no matter what.

I think the captains wandering around in town were a really bad idea on seaward.ru's part, or at least they didn't polish it enough before release. I had the exact same problem, plus when the guy left there was no ship going out, he was simply there one day and gone the next. I went to the port control guy to find out where he went, hoping I might catch up to him, and he told me the captain had left like two weeks ago. Um, no, dude, he was right here just yesterday. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
I realoaded the game and pulled a sword on the guy and he initiated conversation, only he had an empty dialog and moments later the game crashed.

I've gotten some of those quests, but I've not finished any of them yet.

Sounds like this is another quest that needs a bit something more done to it.

Wait a minute!
Today I met the guy at sea - orange sails.
So they actually do indeed travel like normal ppl...

//Edit:
And I really got lucky and met another one of these side quest vessels - Captured groom of some town. Orange sails, too.
Got the former captive on board now as passenger.

You mean the ships they're on show up on the map with orange sails? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> Well, at least it makes 'em easy to see. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I as of yet haven't found the two I'm searching for, nor a missing husband.

Iv'e seen orange, purple and red sails on ships pertaining to quests, and a green one twice which I think was a treasure fleet if i'm not mistaken.

It's a complete rainbow! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

The golden fleet has yellow sails. Green are ships that you're supposed to talk to, so don't sink those.

Actually it makes them bloody difficult to distinguish from Spanish ships, which have red and yellow sails.

Alas, I somehow missed the fact that each nation's ships are colour-coded. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Yeah, they really should've picked a different color for those. The green and purple and yellow ones are fine, but orange... not so much. "Oooh, a quest ship! ...no, wait, a Spanish military convoy. Aw crud."
Fortunately the texture files are fairly easy to edit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Indeed, each nations sails are colored according to both their country of origin as well as quest type they are associated with.

Also the map ships vary depending on the size of the fleet or fleets they represent.
