I think it is a great model to be placed in COAS. As I suppose it is a work of the same modeler as one who created the Soleil Royal, the style is similar. If somebody is interested, PM me please, and I'll send this model. I don't want to work with her myself, because there is a lack of 17th century smaller vessels, which I want to fill.

Wow, That's nice. She looks exactly like the Heller plastic kit of her I built when I was a kid.

Another great French beauty to put in game.

Thank you for the model. Where did you find it? I'm sure we can bring it into COAS.

We have so many good quality large English, French and Spanish ships, I sure wish we could get a couple of large 17th century Dutch warships of equivalent quality. The Dutch Escort ship and Wappen von Hamburg are the best ones we have and they are not first or even second raters.

Doesn't seem there is much interest in them even though from an aesthetic viewpoint they have some of the most flowing, beautiful, rakish lines of them all.

Wow that's quite a cool looking 3rd rate. Looks like it's designed by the same guys who designed the La Couronne actually. I'd definitely like to see that ship ingame as well.

As for dutch ships. ya it would be great to see some of the dutch designed ships we have models for actually see the light of day. For starters we should get the Friedrich Wilhelm zu Perde done she's been in the works for some time. Hope she wasn't scrapped due to the scale error which was encountered. I also understand we have a 4 part model for the Zeven Provincien at our desposal, doesn't seem like anyone has even started on that one. I'd LOVE to see both of those ships make it into the game.

As for dutch ships, I've got plans of Prins Willem- 60 guns rearmed indiaman. Looking closer on them, I figured out that stock flying dutchman was made according to the same plans and it would be easy to make a conversion.

Ok back to the topic at hand the La Sirene here is a pretty cool looking 3rd rate we've GOTTA get this ship in game in the near future.

A very nice ship. Since you realize you know the model has 475 000 polygons. We do not have all those computers create it. There is still much work to it.

Sorry guys, but regardless of where it came from, with a polycount like that, this model is simply not suitable for either of the games. :shock
It would need a huge amount of work to be done to reduce the ship to use AT LEAST four times less polygons.
Now I don't know about you, but if I were a modeller, I'd rather make a low-poly version from scratch myself than try to optimise this one. It would probably be less work, too.

In other words, don't get your hopes up to see this ship in either game any time soon...

Aww! That's too bad! That ship would have been a cool addition to the game. :cry

But maybe the super talented Pgargon or someone else might make their own adaptation of the ship sometime in the distant future.

Here's hoping. :onya

I'd have a closer look on a model, when I'll have more free time and see if it is possible to reduce a polycount. She has a very plygonal heavy rigging and ornaments. It can be replaced with more simple ones.
As for copyrights, I can't say nothing about it. I found her among my friends files from a restored HDD and he does not remember where did he took the model. She was in one archive with a source model of Soleil Royal, we currently have in the game.

You send it to us. I look at it and talk to me Nightwatcher if we can do something. We were working on the Peller but we must first see the Modell.

I sent the model to Nightwatcher. Hopefully there are 4 different models of this ship with 4 different levels of details. Yes, the first one has about 480k polygons, the second one has 245k. The third and the fourth have 46k and 8k polygons and look worse than COAS stock ships. So I've decided to send a second version of this ships with 245 polygons. I think this amount can be easily reduced to 130-170k (it is normal for such a big ship) removing or simplifying the majority of ornaments, simplifying the rigging and using such plug-ins as Polygon Cruncher 8.
