List of the new ships avalible?

With all the new ships avalible is there a composit list of them all, which are avalible to download?, or are they all in the build MODS?

I see a few really nice, new ones so i was just wandering

There's a lot of new ships and we try to put all of the in the Build. Not all of them are in there yet, but most are. The ones that aren't in there yet can be found in the <a href="http://www.pafiles.com/potc/Pieter%20Assorted%20Files/+%20Ships/" target="_blank">ships</a> folder in my FTP folder. We could use some help in putting them in the Build, making sure we don't get doubles of the same ship, nor overwrites of existing ships. Thomas the Terror would be doing that, but he already has a lot of other things to do, so it'd be great if somebody could give him a hand with that.

Right now i think i'm the only one here who can give him a hand because i don't have "other things to do" and i also have basic idea of adding something. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
There's hardly any pictures for the ships in my FTP folder. You can download and extract them though and check them out with the GM Viewer. That's the easiest. You can find some pictures of the recently added SLiB ships <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10936" target="_blank">here</a> and some of the film ships <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=10896&view=findpost&p=213083" target="_blank">here</a>. These are the ships that ARE in Alpha 7 Plus though. You can also find a screenshot of an unreleased ship <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11011" target="_blank">here</a>.

To Cylon13: If you would be willing to help Thomas the Terror putting those ships from my FTP folder into the game, that'd be great. And I'll still be wanting those Davy Jones crewmembers! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

Ok i'll look into it but then i have to install a more stable version of build mod into my computer first. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> ..and my sea corpses will get a special thread, i made some pictures of them, they are actually skeletons what i overtextured with grass texture ..looks pretty cool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

EDIT: I think that we should wait when Pirate_kk finishes Alpha 8 (or whatever it is) before adding those new ships in game.
 
Adding new ships should, in theory, not cause any new crashes if done correctly. Strangely enough though I have recently heard of crashes caused by newly added ships. Waiting until Alpha 8 would be a good idea, provided that it won't be a long wait. I am not sure how long it'll take though.

Well i really did not meant crashes it just this Build version ...i mean if i add ships to unstable version noone is ever going to get them work in stable version or at least it's hard for them to do so i think we indeed should wait till that more stabler version comes of Build mod. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

B14a6 looks to be pretty stable on my end, even more so than B13.3 is. Prolly you could "regress" back to that version without losing too much. I've had some luck with alpha 7 (without the PLUS), but even that one tends to kick me back to desktop.

I have a question about ship though: With a Master spyglass, I'm still am only getting ship class ( class1-7), but not ship type ( Gallion, Schooner, Corvete, ect). Is there a way to tell what type of ship I'm looking at, or do I have to memorize the hulls?
 
you're probably looking at it from a too big distance. try getting closer so your spyglass can make out more details. apart from that, memorizing the hulls IS useful. it's proven it's value to me tons of times. i can now determine certain things looking through my spyglass which are in fact not even indicated by it, such as ship type and class at really big distances. occasionally even their nationality, in good weather.
 
If you put the new ships in the game, making sure they don't double existing ships nor overwrite them, it is relatively easy to put them into any version of the game. Basically all we need are the MODELS and Textures folders along with the updated ships_init.c including the new ships. The most work is figuring out which ships are already int he Build and need not be added again and making sure the new ships don't overwrite the old ones.

But for adding new ships then i HAVE to revert back to Alpha 6 because in Alpha 6 you were able to add ship names to start with ..easier to check if everything went allright you know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
Very true. You can still do that in Alpha 7, but Alpha 7 Plus makes that rather complicated.
 
And i don't want to run into "No island within reach, Enter the map to sail to some island" thingy when im reverting back to Alpha 6. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I just cannot find the code that caused that message anymore. I know I removed it at some point, but according to you it still IS in Alpha 6. I can't find it in there though. Can you please redownload Alpha 6 and install it and confirm that you still have this?

Yea i'm already redownloading ..and i suspect that problem may have came from your PB Modifications ..maybe check it or re add better version of it? if you have of course.
 
PB Modifications might indeed have been the cause. I don't have any version of that file anymore though.

<b>From my site:</b>
1) Make sure you have Build 13 installed properly
2) Remove the folder RESOURCE\MODELS\locations\DECKS
3) Extract the Build 14 Alpha version on top of your game
4) Extract and run preset.bat from the Build 14 Alpha file
5) Run RunMe.bat
6) Reset the controls to default!
7) Change the game's settings, controls, etc. and play
 
Allright! ..i installed it and i tried to add my Corvette SS Cursed to the game.

Ok now it's in my game BUT i'v got three problems - sailors are not seen on it (gotta add shipwalk data or something),
how to add Flying Dutchman's sails to it? and ship icon is missing (that corvette icon).
