Lost Diamond/Emerald Quest

CapnSunk

Sailor Apprentice
I had a lot of trouble doing this quest, so heres some tips to completing it:

Turn foliage off, and go outside the city gates to the jungle. It's somewhere in that jungle and you can walk right over it 10 times without the hand icon coming up. So look for it on the ground, it looks like this:

Heh, yeah, exactly. I remember the days when pixel hunting was an unfortunate consequence of low display resolution coupled with bad art direction. Now we have it as an actual quest. Progress? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Believe it or not, its actually a 3D model of a gem. And the color varies depending on what gem you were asked to look for.

Cap'n Drow

Just a mind numbing quest if your unlucky, plus they happen to have butterflies the same colors as the gems that land on the ground...

Eh, I kinda like this quest, gives me an excuse for a nice walk in the calm woods, but it crops up <i>way</i> too often. With the number of gems the moneylenders keep losing they'd all go broke in a week if I weren't there to retreive them.

I'm also having trouble with this quest. I turned foliage off and walk about 100 times but i can't find it.
I got this quest in santiago which is on cuba, and cuba jungle is VERY LARGE area.
So i want to know in which area is lost gem?
Is it in "exit to jungle" or some area with "jungle" name?
If it's in exit to jungle then the search would be much easier <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />)

EDIT:
Now I saw on picture few post up that this particular gem was found in exit to jungle.
Anybody knows if it's always the case or...?

It is ALWAYS in area when u just exit city.

Yes, it is always in the "Exit to jungle" area.
There have been rumors that sometimes the gem doesn't spawn, rendering the quest impossible to complete, but I've done them in various cities many times and never encountered this problem, so I'm inclined to think the person reporting this had simply not looked hard enough.

Thanx Sordid. I'll try searching when i arrive home. I hope the search shall be succesfull <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
I just started new game (again) and i'm short on cash right now

Nope... location in the town exit area is random, so it changes.... even if you re-enter the area the gem will be respawned in other location randomly.
Turning off the grass helps, and walking (not running) in 1st person view (with TAB) also helps a lot.

<b>BEST REGARDS</b>

You are right Tahlendorf. I switched to 1st view and found it quite easy. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />

hmm, got this quest last night, and found the diamond in the jungle outside town, but the quest doesn't seem to update (or at least the moneylender in question didn't seem interested in taking his diamond back after I spoke to him!)
Anyone know if it can be fixed, or if there is something else I should be doing?
