about battling in the fog, can there be made something so the enemy's line of sight is smaller or something..
btw i think it would be great if somebody improve the cannons, it would be great if there are cannons constantly fireing in a battle

i'd really like to see such cannons as well. i think i already told you about a similar system on the previous page.

Morgan, are talking about treasure of cutlass reef? its a pretty cool game, but it is simple

isn't there any way to give each cannon an individual reload time like in that game, or somehow edit the coding for the cannons?

What files should i look at what are containing cannon information/codes? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Whenever I search for the code I want to modify, I start my search with thinking what I CAN find. Usually a BuildSettings.h toggle that has to do with the mod I want to change. Then I search for that toggle in the PROGRAM folder and usually that gets me where I want. In this case I found PROGRAM\SEA_AI\AIShip.c by searching for AUTO_AIMED_FIRE.
 
I found out that AICannon.c in PROGRAM\SEA_AI is about cannons and there's something about cannons in InternalSettings.h too. One thing what i would able to do right now is decreasing cannon reload time but that would make killing way too easy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ..we need cannons to fire randomly NOT to reload fast. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I'd be surprised if anybody did. But I saw Hook posting on the forum a very short while ago, so you could try and ask him through PM or otherwise.

Hey i'm handing over the "making cannons shoot like in Treasure of Cutlass Reef" task because that one needs a whole new code or something because i looked a bit into it and i realized that ..you ACTUALLY need to make reloading procedure a bit different so the reloading indicators will show how many cannons are reloaded (randomly) already and how many cannons are left to be reloaded instead of how many time it will take to reload all the cannons.
What i mean is giving the cannon reload indicators a WHOLE lot new meaning and that how we can ACTUALLY have Treasure of Cutlass Reef like cannon shooting.
