Malcom Hatcher's invulnerability

Hi all,

have a little problem with build. Malcom Hatcher allways dies, when i run from the tavern to the shipyard in oxbay (`main-quest`), and he´s to far to reach him, before he´s slayed by the guards. thats a big problem because hes the only one, where i can change my clothes (dont know, why its not working with the hired officers).
so where can i switch Malcom Hatcher's invulnerability on again?

btw: are there any other clothes i can choose? for example the frenchs military clothes?
 
in build 11 the only time you get to choose between all the possible outfits is by talking to malcolm. otherwise, you have to <b>buy</b> your outfits from tailors' shops - there's one in every town. once you've bought them you can select them on the f2 interface, or by talking to your officers.
 
well the tailors shop is really nice and i ve no problem spending money (ive always have too much of it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> - i also updated the shiplist and edit the price of all ships (2x) because i had too soon a fleet with 4 battleships and that was too boring then).

but the only tailor i prefer isnt fixed (french one).... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate_plain.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p3" border="0" alt="pirate_plain.gif" />
or is there any update?
 
the tailor is simply not there. never. not in the mornig, not at noon - never :-(

the best would be to open en extra post for that problem

AHEM! The French Tailor *should* be in his shop during regular hours. If you are not seeing him, there is something wrong - corrupt - in your save. (did you save *after* you found him gone, too?) If you can, go back to a save previous to your going into the French Tailor's shop, and begin again.

Sometimes saves can be corrupted, and returning to a previous save is the only way to recover...
 
well - i tried it a whole day....
i also tried it at 2 different games (started a new game also)
and i reinstalled all about 10 times

every time he was not there.

maybe due to my `build-installation` ( 10.1 and then 11 upgrade and the german patch for build). but if it is the installation causing that trouble: why is always only the french one missing?


oh... idea:
is there any relation between international relationship and the tailor?
 
question about Malcom is done....

loaded about 30 times a save game and ran like hell to save his live .... and finally he survied.... but it was much harder than conquer a fort with a shooner <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Maybe there's some kind of bug in the upgrade. Did you get any of the OTHER upgrade (not the build upgrade from 10.1 to 11, but bugfixes)?
 
no bugfixes - but i made a mistake:
wasnt a upgrade, it was the fullversion of build 11 i installed over the build 10.1 .....
 
Ah, you might have a problem because of that - try a clean reinstall of PotC and then Build 11.0 - that should solve things.

Also, once you install Build 11.0, you WILL have to start a new game. But it doesn't seem like you're too far into the game yet, so that shouldn't be any problem, I'd guess. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
hehe.... yeah.... but its quit hard now... playing for about 3 days (about 10h a day (holiday)) because i moded the `ship-prices` to make the game harder.
now a galleon costs about 300k and a MoW about 2 million :)
that makes the game much better because its now impossible to get big ships tooo fast. otherwise can get a battleship in 3 `game-months` by escort traders and deliver goods.

but i cant install build 11 only - the only way to run the german patch seems to install 10.1 first and upgrade it with build 11 (full version) :-(
 
IIRC, the patches are built into Build 11 full, all you need to do is make sure you select the localized version and you should be set.
