how do i get to the second level? i've defeated all the wacko's (very impressed by the way), i've tried going into the confessionary, going behind the stone structure in the back of the church, and walking along the walls. how do you get there? i noticed damage on the floor in front of the confessionary, bit when i'm inside nothing happens. is that a bug? or did i change the wrong thing in the buildsettings?

ok, i found the way to the next level. but i couldn't read the text of those monks because all those other ones where hacking in on me so i was in a hurry. what was he saying? i can't seem to get past the place where you enter the second level. there are so many monks and because of the corpses lying around, i can't move. guess i'll have to configure the graphics and the corpses and start a new game. the problem is, the corpses will still lie around for some time, and i can't configure the time because i do want to loot corpses in other occasions. MAN that place is wierd. i simply can't move from my spot! they just keep coming! AAAAAAAAAH! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> the first level is fine, but that second one! there are simply to many! not that i'm going to stop trying. this is going to cause nightmares <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> . the're always watching <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerbz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nerbz" border="0" alt="nerbz.gif" /> ...stupid monks! i'm going insane here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> BLOOLOLOLLOLOOOLLLOOOOOOOO! ok, i'm done. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

WHICH SICK PERSON DESIGNED THIS PLACE!?!? man that guy's evil. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> whoever it is, that person certainly has my admiration. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> i figured out that all monks come past your starting point, so if you get out of there, you face only one monk at a time. or at least most of the time.

And I'll bet you haven't even started digging for treasure yet.

Well, that very sick person is our one and only .... Drum roll ....

let's give it up for .... Drum roll ...

Aye, I'll second your comment on digging for Treasure, Petros. It's something of an odd experience, thats for certain. **grins**

Something I would suggest is perhaps a new item called a 'Shovel', so's you can dig for treasure without breaking your weapons.

Kudos to CCC for all his work on the Abbey!!!

With thr Maltese Knight Abbey: You can "talk" to the corpsed with the loot-key. However, make sure you only do this when there are no enemies with drawn blades near. I made it so that enemies won't actually draw their blades while the player is in dialog, but I couldn't make the enemies put their blades away as soon as the player would start dialog.

i know about the talking to the gosts. it's just that i don't know if i can loot. pressing T doesn't work anymore when i get to the second level of the maze. at least i think it doesn't, i'll have to check that.

i did start digging. my sword broke and it was followed by maltese knights rushing in who i had to kill with my fists, which took a very long time. how far do you have to dig?! i tried digging about thirty times and i still wasn't there. is that some mean trick to let the player believe that he has to dig further? do you have to get the stuff in china or something?

at a certain point, i ended up in a cave. is this the oxbay cave or the third level of the abbey? also, i could see the sea in certain areas instead of the floor. i saw it at the two-storey hall and at the point where you get tot the second part of the maze.

Some spots have treasure at different levels, like monastery treasure over Indian treasure over natural mineral deposits.

Watch your log in the upper left corner, and listen to the sound your sword makes.
Treasure found, especially loose minerals, are added directly to you inventory.

How much you find may be related to your "Luck" score.

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->at a certain point, i ended up in a cave. is this the oxbay cave ... <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Yes, this is the cave you normally access from the jungle.

i just found an entrance to the oxbay sewers as well. i'm sure now that you can't trigger a conversation on the third level of the abbey by looting. nothing happens. what i found a bit strange was that when i was digging, i found a HALF-dead plague victim. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> which was pretty dead actually. i also encountered a mummy with 250 hp and the toughness perk. at level 4! man that guy was a nuisance. luckily the poison didn't have effect because i had the perk as well. i have noticed by now that all the monks in the entire maze start coming for you when you start fighting one of them. it happens all the time. do they reappear after a while after you've killed them? otherwise i could just kill them all and start digging up all that treasure. the problem is, how do i get rid of all that junk i've collected? those market stalls are way short of cash, but i'm gonna try a store next. found some cheap armor and two borgia blades. along with a lot of other junk, including four blunderbusses! are you supposed to find them that early?

Hm. Seems like if your sword can break while digging, you might want to switch to a cheaper sword before you start digging. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Hook

i always do now. meanwhile, i got out! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> ended up in oxbay cave this time. it turnes out that the looting problem i have is narrowed down to only the maltese knights. when i'm on the second level, the dialogue that should start simply doesn't appear. the looting does work on all the other things. i was in for quite a shock when i dug up a skeleton that couldn't be killed! nasty! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

anyone ever found a place that was flooded? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> i did. the entire lowest part of the abbey (of the third level) is flooded to the waist. there are even waves! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> i only found it once, but it goes under the other hallways of the third level. side-sliding helps a lot finding it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

Part of the Abbey is flooded, yes. And I noticed the "not being able to loot" bug as well. It's limited to the part of the Abbey where you get when you enter the Abbey through the Oxbay dungeon. I have been unable to figure out why that happens.

BTW: You can dig into infinity at the digging spots. You will find new things at random. It's up to the player if you continue to dig or not. It's not going to bring you into the next level anyway.

only restricted to a certain part in the next level? i'll try that. (once i can get myself to go back in there again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> , which can take a long time) that place is hell! i have a suspicion that i ran around in circles most of the time. i think i haven't seen two-thirds of the entire maze yet!

Dante could have used it if he needed another level of hell.
It is where would go, the souls of those who played POTC too long or with too much passion.

i think that includes me, as i say ARGH quite a lot, no matter where i am. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ARGH!

Well how do I get there ? I wanananananananananaana !!

Also I heard there are tattoos I want some ...cant find a place that has them ??

Digging ??

I never got a dig icon ...how dp you manage this feat ?

Also a shovel ? Its in the game ? I looked in the items folder...canrt find it...where is a shovel found ?

well, to avoid a to big spoiler, the MAIN entrance is in the newly added part of greenford. be warned though, don't EVER go in without the toughness perk. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> and run, RUN LIKE NEVER BEFORE! but only when your in the next level itself. the entrance to it is somewhere in the main room, but you'll have to find it yourself. just keep searching in every nook an' cranny for it. you'll know when you've found it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> digging is simply 'open'. oh, and be prepared for nasty surprises. it is also always a good idea to RUN AWAY from a fight, as it will atttract the other countless enemy's. and then, believe me, your totally screwed.

Every time I run a search for tattoo's and tattoo patlors ...I end up right back here...I think I was in the abbey ..I swam into the sewers...and ended up leaving through a door in Oxbay...lots of loot but really nothing special....I was only level 11...maybe the loot is level dependent ?

I found np spots to dig...but did manage to get a " grab " icon on a skeleton and got me a " Fine Carnils Guard " its served me WELL .

The opium den where you can get tattoos is in Redmond town near the governor's mansion.

the maltese abbey is haunted. it's absolutely NOTHING like all those other dungeons. the sewers you found in fact do have an entrace to the maltese abbey, but it is very well hidden. you'll probably wont find it unless you come out at the other side. i never found a skeleton in the maltese abbey in the situation that you discribe, so it must be somewhere else. (you never get a hand icon if you try to loot) i did find one in the redmond dungeon. also, the maltese abbey was added in build 13, if you have build 12.1. if you can 'dig' in the maltese abbey, you can dig endless times in one spot, but at your own peril.
