i didnt meet him that night, and its been so many weeks already. Is the quest important? Can have chance to be apporached again and redo it?

Not really, but you do get the best medium weapon in the game at the end of it. You can get it elsewhere too, though.

Well, a pretty good one:

And some money, but unless you're playing a Spain-friendly character it won't even cover the cost of a trading licence, which you will need. But by the time you're able to finish this quest money will be virtually worthless either way.
