What you think about adding monthly salary for player to Build Mod such as AOP?

Same for all nations:
rNation.Ranks.1 = "Midshipman"; MONTHLY SALARY = 250 or 500 GP
rNation.Ranks.2 = "3rd Lieutenant"; MONTHLY SALARY = 750 or 1000 GP
rNation.Ranks.3 = "2nd Lieutenant"; MONTHLY SALARY = 1000 or 1500 GP
rNation.Ranks.4 = "1st Lieutenant"; MONTHLY SALARY = 2000 or 2500 GP
rNation.Ranks.5 = "Commander"; MONTHLY SALARY = 3500 GP
rNation.Ranks.6 = "Captain"; MONTHLY SALARY = 5000 GP
rNation.Ranks.7 = "Commodore"; = MONTHLY SALARY 6500 GP
rNation.Ranks.8 = "Rear Admiral"; = MONTHLY SALARY 8000 GP
rNation.Ranks.9 = "Vice Admiral"; = MONTHLY SALARY 9500 GP
rNation.Ranks.10 = "Admiral"; = MONTHLY SALARY 12000 GP
rNation.Ranks.11 = "Admiral of the Fleet"; = MONTHLY SALARY 15000 GP
rNation.Ranks.12 = "First Lord of the Admiralty"; = MONTHLY SALARY 20000 GP

Could be done. However, you already get land for each new rank from which you get money every month, so this would double that effect and the player already does get too much money later in the game. So I don't really see the point of this. Unless we'd remove the land and replace it with a normal salary.

I think you should only put in the land feature if you have reached commodore or something. It isn't very logical that a midshipman would receive land instead of salary.

I agree with Thomas. I dont think any navy could affort giving land away to each and everyone on the ships. Jack Aubrey was sometimes not fully payed for the prizes he took, nor did he always get a full wage.

Then what would be the pro of having land vs getting a salary? Actually, land is only given to nobility, right? And we have just renamed all nobility ranks in the game. Perhaps the land thing should be completely changed and rewritten and salary be added for promotions instead.

Maybe we can add land reward only for last 12th rank in new ranking system. (After service in RN First Lords of the Admiralty most of it become a nobility)
This land should been used for player mansion MANSION/ESTATE....

That'd be cool; to have the land actually be physical, rather than a number of square ft you own in Europe.

i think that that was suggested before. and i still like the idea as much. what if your mansion would be something like the buildingset mod?

Plenty of opportunity here. Own house in town, own land. It <i>would</i> be possible to do it and might not even be all too complicated. Just requires some editing of location and dialog files and you could already do it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Please don't say that buildings on your land will be *thinks for a word* um ... well, not-solid. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Surely it's possible to make an area for your estate full of all the (physical) buildings we can think of and merely 'blink' them on as the player invests in these upgrades?

...It all would need a coder though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Not if you make it location with a building on there with proper collision detection that can only be enabled by the player for a lot of money.

Maybe it's time to make the difference between a corsair and a navy captain. Midshipman, lieutenant, etc : those are titles for a navy captain, who indeed deserve a salary (or some kind of reward system). Letters of Marque were for corsairs.

Very true. Of course you start out as a Corsair with a LoM and then when you are promoted, you sort-of end up in the navy. But it isn't quite right. Navy titles should only be used for those characters who really JOIN THE NAVY, rather than going off on their own. But distinguishing between those two would be a tremendous undertaking, I'm afraid. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" />
