Avast ye Mateys,

Warband: Mount and Blade is one of my favorite games ever. If you haven't seen it, you should take a look. I personally play the Me Floris, Hundred Years War, and Knights the Last Battle mods here: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,165.0.html These mods have the best, most historically accurate armor, weapons, and horse textures I've seen.

So there are a couple of major developments recently. Mount and Blade: With Fire and Sword is now available and Multiplayer is also now available: We have a Pirates Ahoy! group on Steam, so you should come over and join us and possibly a few of us could start playing in multi player mode. Check out these videos:

And now there is multiplayer

While you hear Thagarr and I often complain about the demise of the PC game industry to the console and the shiney, flashy dribble the corporations dish out, the spirit of what the PC gaming industry should be can be found alive and well at Taleworlds. Well done!!!!

I have heard some very good things about this game before, I just haven't had a chance to check it out yet though. The trailers above have convinced me that needs to change! I am currently downloading the demo, thanks mate! :dance

*EDIT*

Ok, I played around with Mount and Blade Warband demo, it definitely looks like an interesting game! I went through the tutorials, and then of course headed to visit Nord's on a longship! Then did a bit of looking around in a couple of villages, and after venturing out into the open between villages, I got set upon by raiders who proceeded hand me my ass! :ixi

The controls are going to take some getting used to, I am used to the simplistic controls of POTC and CoAS. There does seem to be quite a lot to do though, trading, fighting, a lot more game than what I was expecting! Thanks mate! :onya

I'm addicted to the new DLC, M&B Napolionic Wars, check it out! If we have enough people, maybe we can form our own PA! regiment.

Definitely one of my two favorite games ever. Unfortunately when I was switching computers I put all my mods and saves on a few cd's and I still haven't reinstalled it.

OP, thanks that was the excuse I was looking for :)

I just traded for the Mount & Blade collection the other day, so now I've finally got Warband and With Fire & Sword. Have had the original for ages, but got away from playing it for some reason.

I'm still addicted to this game and the numerous mods for it. The Hundred Years War mod is awesome. The new Floris mod is fantastic. I think my favorite is still Knights the Last Battle because it portrays early rennaissance warfare set in Europe in the mid 1400s. That means you have FIREARMS with uber cool armor at the same time. Check out my channel for M&B vids: https://www.youtube.com/user/modernknightone

Here's a couple of my vids featuring the Knights the Last Battle mod:

KotLB looks really nice! Might have to try it at some point (if I ever find a cure for my Brytenwalda addiction :p)

It is really good. The nobles have different and really cool clothes. The armors and soldiers are really different for each faction. So the factions are England, France, Holy Roman Empire, Flanders, Burgundy, and the Swiss cantons. Lots of different matchlocks. The tournaments are really different as well. You can use your actual weapons instead of just the blunt weapons. There are problems with the dialogue where there are mismatches from the original game. I am working on fixes now in the dialogue.

Taleworlds just released a patch (1.153) for the base game and for the Napoleonic Battles version. http://www.taleworlds.com/

Here's another vid from my channel. MK: https://www.youtube.com/user/modernknightone?feature=mhee

Installed the renaissance mod today and I´m really enjoying it. thanks for the tip, MK!

And here´s a video of my favourite M&B mod of all times

Its about the dark ages in britan, a perfect combination of thorough historical research and very nice gameplay features (new tournamets, sea battles etc). Its a bit rough around the edges from time to time, but they really managed to capture the atmosphere of this dark and cruel era.
Best played with the Realistic Colours mod :)

warband, no doubt. If you like multiplayer and firearms, get Napoleonic Wars.

Good idea, makes you appreciate the mods more :p Once you´ve got a good grip of the gameplay, just tell us what your setting preferences are (fantasy, realistic, historic etc) and we´ll point you in the right direction. The sheer amount of mods can be quite confusing for a new player :)

hey guys my internet completely broke for some times,
well i played M&B and it was a good game if there was not a lot of annoying things here and there i almost immediately downloaded diplomacy mod LOL.

anyway about mods i rather go for fantasy style (but since i dont know anything about history anyway history and fantasy is somehow alike :p ) but i prefer to play a realistic good mod rather than an average fantasy mod

btw after playing M&B i must say Caribbean can be a great game i really think they will succeed in making a solid games (and whatever we dont like we mod it right :p)

Prophecy of Pendor for me also, it's hard to impossible to go it alone and win but it's still fun when you hit the uber godlike warrior stage as the other factions are also roaming around with 400+ troops
