Musket volley

I hope this is an Ok forum for this question, and if not, my apologies.

How does the muskey volley ability work? Is it supposed to show up on the Use Ability menu, or does it just happen when you board?

If you have selected the musket volley, then whenever you board, you will get a logged message saying that (so many) of the enemy were killed by musket fire. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Cool. I've been missing that message. I guess I'm going to have to start playing this with my glasses on so I can read that log.

You can make the log messages bigger if you want, by changing the setting in the file \PotC\PROGRAM\<span style='color:red'>BuildSettings.h</span>

You should open it in a plain text editor like Notepad, but NOT Wordpad or Word...

Scroll down and look for these lines:

//  Toggles smaller log message font and relocates - tweak in BATTLE_INTERFACE\LogInterface.c
#define ENABLE_SMALLLOG      1  // Set to 1 to enable smaller log message font and relocation - added by Cat for CCC<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->

Change it to "0" and the logs will be bigger so you can read them easier. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Oooh -- that's way big! Kind of like playing while looking through a venetian blind. I had to put it back 'cause I was getting whupped on account of not being able to see my guy.

BTW: You can turn various logs off by pressing the "L" button (that was the one, right?), so that you'll only get the more interesting messages. For example: You won't get the +23 experience points anymore. And you can turn off logs in BuildSettings.h as well.
