My experiences with playing the newest Modpack

I have tested it with port au prince and it works perfectly. The town has different textures and colors. It looks like an other town. We can use these models for new islands mod but as you say above, the new resource files will probably take a big package. I think we could separate them in a different update, like that, people will download it one time. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Screwface has already taken some stuff from the SLiB mod, so he knows how to merge it into the Build. If you would try, you'd need to do some complicated coding and I don't think you want to. Because the mod itself is not made to be installed on the Build and probably wouldn't work straight away.

Great that you can do something with it. I reckon we should do something similar to the SLiB mod: To have it as an additional download. If people are fine with the reused models, they can stick to that and if they want recoloured models, they can download the additional files. I would hope we could make the files generated as well; would save a lot of filesize to download. Request to Screwface: Could you please tell me what foam files are missing that are causing the game to hang? I'd like to put them into the next modpack update. Pieter, Screwface and CCC. It is known thing PoTC still misses good larger new side quests. Some time ago I wrote some larger story -quest for PoTC. I meant it for PMT team but this group of people stop its work. I think it could be good for the new islands where is much place and space for realization. So, If you would be interested in reading it and pondering about it I could send it to you after I would do some rewoking for the current game. It is written in MSWord. I would like to send it to Nathan and Catalina too but they don´t go here too much lately. It could be some joint project, I would give you the story and you would try somehow to realize it for PoTC game by your collective effort. Because there aren´t any larger new plots and quests in the game so far, PoTC seems to me all the time almost the same game although many things were improved here. that's Turks_shore_04.ini and Turks_shore_04.tga.zap who are missing in my last mod update. Without this 2 files, you can't go ashore at sandy point on turks island because the game freeze.
their emplacement is RESOURCE\FOAM\LOCATIONS\OUTSIDE\PASSAGE.

I have uploaded this 2 files on the ftp for you pieter for your update.

Rad, i thank you for your proposition, i would like to see new good quest too, but personnaly, i have no time to code quests. I'm too busy with the expansion of the archipelago and the task is far to be finished. As you have noticed, some islands remains without port, towns, stores, jungles and characters.... and the priority for me is to complete that because while this task won't be finished, people will have to start a new game when a new update will be available. That's a pity. When the archipelago will be finished, we probably could improve the game with new quest and stories without starting a new game. In this optics, i can, if you want, put some characters whithout their dialog files (who will be wrote later) for the futur quests.. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I might be interested in your quest story and coding it. But I can't promise, I'd find the time to realize it. I'm currently working on a larger story quest myself. But when you say, you thought of taking it place on the new islands, maybe there would be a possibility to connect with Screwface and tell him, what characters and locations would be needed., so both gets finished perhaps at the same time.

I share your opinion, that new quests are missing.

Hi Pieter and others. My game stop working on the main storyline again. It stopped working on such a spot in which always worked and it stopped working in very early stadium. It really takes me the taste for further playing. When I am on the shore where English soldiers should be accompanied into the cave by the English agent Wilfred, so after defeating appearing French soldiers nothing happens. Agent Wilfred don´t say anything, soldiers don´t say anything, my company captain from the sloop isn´t on the shore here too. So that I can´t do anything only go to ship and sail out. As I can remember Wilfred should be say something like that "Now I will accompany soldiers into the cave and we needn´t go with me" but nothing happens. It can´t be proceed into the inland too. I think somebody should have a very thorough look at it. It is very important and decisive bug. Mayby by this new islands? Screwface, you wrote here a little above there is something important missing, some two files here from you..... The two files which i spoke concerns only turks island and i don't think this bug was caused by the new islands mod because this mod don't touch at the originals islands and if i remember the story line, your bug has happened on Oxbay. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
I don't know why you're having a problem there. Can anyone confirm this bug? The new islands mod with the update on my page is the most recent version. It's just as recent as the modpack itself. Last update 051002 (means 02-10-05)
 
I just played all the newest stuff last night for the first time time in ages. Funny how the added material is larger than the game itself... Really loved it all though. I didn't play long but long enough to see the new interface, in-game name change (though it reset when I died), the semi-permanent robbable corpses (brilliant!), the new rowboat model at the dock...

I'll keep at it and see what other goodies I unearth. Thanks Pieter!
 
The added material is larger than the game itself? The game is two CDs, more than one GB. The added stuff is still 100MB, which is much smaller. But the added stuff indeed is larger than Build 12 now. Once we get to making a Build 12 update, it'll be twice as large as the original Build 12!
 
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but everytime I attempt to do to Oxbay to pick up the barque to escort back to Isle Muella for Padre Domingues, it will not let me sail away from Oxbay or dock there. Have you seen this problem before? Earlier in the game I was always able to land and sail away fine, but for some reason it no longer allows it, now I am forced to reload my game everytime I get within viewing distance of Oxbay because there is no way to leave. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

EDIT: Doh! I'm so stupid, I forgot you have to attack the pirate ships and it takes you automatically to the island, I wasn't at war with the pirates for some reason, nevermind. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
